On Friday we got to take a tour of Foster the Family DC's Manassas hub, learning more about how they support foster families and organize their operations! We are excited to connect with Foster the Family DC and help share their resources.

Within 24 hours of welcoming a child, Foster the Family delivers a FosterCare Package-curated to the specific needs of the child- right to the doorstep of a foster family.

Their FosterCare Packages include:
-clothing, hygiene items, supplies, and comfort items for the child.
-a meal for the family.
-a gift for the foster parents.
-information about their support groups and connections to local resources.

How are we different?

❤️Foster the Family DC accepts donations for new items to create care packages tailored specifically to the individual family's needs, helping provide support in the immediate 24 hours of placement.

❤️Foster Closet Virginia accepts gently used donations to continue the support for foster families as their children grow and need new clothing and gear.

‼️Did you know 50% of foster families close their doors within their first year due to lack of support and local resources? Every helping hand creates a difference for foster/adoptive/kinship families!

Please consider donating to Foster the Family when you have new and unused items or check out their wish list! To help support Foster the Family, you can also drop new items off with the Foster Closet Virginia and we will organize a drop off of donations for you!

We are so grateful for our new partnership with Stillwater Human Capital! Volunteers from Stillwater were able to fill an incredible 70 backpacks for the kiddos in our programs in just an hour!

It takes a village to meet our goal of 575 backpacks, and with your help we are that much closer! Thank you so much!

We are celebrating TWO years since we launched in September of 2021.

Join us for a "PROCEEDS NIGHT" at Caboose Commons (2918 Eskridge Road Fairfax) where 10% of beer sales between 3-9 pm will go to Foster the Family.

We had a great time at yesterdays Summer Family Picnic hosted by Formed Families Forward! We got to connect with foster, adoptive, and kinship families in the Northern Virginia area and local organizations such as Northern Post Adoption Consortium, Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia, Fairfax County Special Education PTA - SEPTA, and Fairfax County Police. We can't wait for the next family event and to keep working with the amazing families and organizations in our area!😍
