Today, I had the distinct pleasure of attending a weekly meeting of American Legion Post 1799, where more than 40 Legionnaires were present, along with the Commander of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15. It was truly inspiring to stand among so many dedicated veterans—men and women who continue to serve long after their time in uniform.

The meeting provided a great opportunity for both organizations to share the meaningful work we are doing to support our nation’s veterans and their families. The camaraderie, commitment, and shared sense of mission in the room were powerful reminders that our service did not end when we left the military—it simply changed form.

My biggest takeaway from this meeting is clear: we must continue to stand together and support veterans wherever and whenever they need us. By working together, organizations like ours can make a real difference in the lives of those who served and ensure that no veteran is ever left behind.
