All About Wildlife Rehab & Release
WE ARE VOLUNTEERS in Manassas, VA who are giving back by helping local wildlife thrive by rehabilitating injured or abandoned wildlife and then returning them to their natural environment. We are new, so we’re starting small by rehabbing squirrels.
There are members who rehabilitate other Virginia wildlife. If you find an abandoned or injured animal, please call the VA Wildlife Hotline at 703.440.0800. Someone will take your information (or return your call) and then contact the appropriate rehabber or refer you directly to someone local.
The key the survival of abandoned or injured squirrels (and most other wildlife) is to keep them warm until you can get it/them to a trained rehabber. We are permitted by VA’s Department of Game and Inland Fisheries for two years of apprenticeship and training; we then can be licensed by the state to continue caring for wildlife.
We survive only by donations to the Rescue.
