MATCH Up at the Annual CASA Fall Festival 🍂
We had a wonderful time hosting a booth at this year’s CASA Fall Festival in Woodbridge! This year we were thrilled to partner with another amazing youth-led organization, Glow Forward, led by Rania Chaudhary, who traveled all the way from Loudoun County to join us. 
Our maternal and child health services included:
For moms: clothing, housewares and kitchenware, and shoes
For babies: Mommy & Me baskets filled with postnatal essentials like diapers, lotion, onesies, pacifiers, infant Tylenol, and nursing pads, plus baby bouncers, car seats and more
The rain didn’t dampen our enthusiasm one bit! We shared smiles, laughter and pupusas with our neighbors, and we’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by.
We believe every newborn deserves to come into a world full of love, and every new mom deserves to feel cared for, supported and never alone. Becoming a mother is one of life’s biggest journeys, and no one should have to take it without a community behind them. Every basket we pack is our way of saying: we see you, and we’re here for you.

MATCH UP (Maternal and Child Health Upliftment and Progress) was honored to have a booth at the 07 Youth Civic Initiative Community Showcase, hosted by the Office of Congressman Eugene Vindman, celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary! 🇺🇸
We joined local museums, historical sites, nonprofits, and community organizations at Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School for an evening of interactive exhibits, a community painting project, a student-produced documentary premiere, and presentations from the Community Writing Showcase.
It was a joy to connect with families and neighbors, share our mission of supporting mothers and children in our community, and celebrate this historic milestone alongside so many incredible local organizations. Thank you to Congressman Vindman’s office for bringing us all together! 💛

Collaboration creates greater impact.
MATCH UP is proud to partner with Forward to provide hygiene kits and medical supplies to women and families affected by the recent earthquake in Venezuela. In times of crisis, mothers and children are among the most vulnerable, and we believe they deserve special attention, dignity, and care.

MATCH UP was proud to support a dental hygiene drive led by one of our dedicated student leaders and pre-dental student, Zahra Ibrahimkhil.
Together, we provided over 60 dental hygiene kits and an oral health workshop for the residents of Ashraya, including women displaced from their homes who are seeking refuge while building educational and life skills for independent living. Many are also mothers of young children.
We believe oral health is an essential part of maternal and child health, dignity, and daily well-being.

MATCH UP recently sponsored a women’s rights empowerment event in Chennai, India, held at Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College.

The event brought together preeminent attorneys and advocates who shared practical legal knowledge with students from five girls’ schools serving under-resourced communities. The discussion focused on women’s personal, property, and marital rights — knowledge that can help young women understand their protections, their choices, and their voices.

MATCH UP stands for Maternal and Child Health Upliftment and Progress. When women understand their rights and are supported in claiming them, they are better equipped to become effective mothers, mentors, leaders, and changemakers for the next generation.

Supporting Moms. Uplifting Babies. Building Community. 
 This week, MATCH UP was honored to support two mothers and their babies during incredibly difficult times, including a young teen mom who was especially grateful for the help.
After learning that these families were urgently in need of diapers and baby supplies, our team was able to provide diapers, clothing, and additional essentials to help ease some of the pressure they are facing.
A special thank you to Lauren Patterson, our new Community Engagement Volunteer, for helping coordinate and deliver these donations with so much care and compassion. Her willingness to step up reflects exactly what MATCH UP is about: meeting families where they are and showing up when support is needed most.
We are also deeply grateful to CASA for connecting us with families in need and for the important work they continue to do in our community.
Small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference — especially for young mothers and families facing moments of uncertainty. Thank you to everyone who continues to support MATCH UP and helps us provide care, dignity, and hope to mothers and babies in our community.

MATCH UP is proud to share the launch of our newest global outreach project in Morocco!
Our Vice President of Global Inclusion, Salma Sherdil, led a dental hygiene awareness initiative in Rabat, Morocco, focused on promoting healthy habits and expanding access to essential dental care supplies for children.
With the help of generous dentists and supporters across Northern Virginia, we collected and assembled nearly 30 “Smile Kits” containing:�🪥 Toothbrushes�🦷 Toothpaste�✨ Dental floss�💧 Mouthwash�👅 Tongue scrapers�🍃 Xylitol mints
She then facilitated the donation to Centre Shems’y-Youssoufia organization in Rabat, and helped educate children about the importance of dental hygiene, because every smile matters. This community-centered social organization supports women and children through education, vocational training, counseling, and early childhood programs. The center is part of a broader network of social inclusion initiatives across Morocco dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities and improving access to opportunity.
