We’re a non-profit, grassroots organization made up of people standing up for New Jersey and the Shore that believe in putting people before politics as usual. We work together to pass policies that help our region, change institutions, hold corporations accountable and ensure elected officials stand with us. We engage in community-powered solutions for a full and fair Sandy recovery, economic sec

urity and dignity for all of us, and fighting so our communities can prepare for sea level rise, extreme weather and future storms.

Shoutout to the World Meteorological Organization for naming the first storm of the 2026 hurricane season after someone who spends most of her time fighting for storm survivors, our illustrious leader and Executive Director Amanda, aka Panda. There’s only like 3 people on the planet legally allowed to use that nickname.

Fran was the very first person to show Amanda a clawback letter in December of 2015. We tried for years to win clawback forgiveness, since 2016. And we tried a lot of things. Fran was instrumental in this process. She brought 50 of her neighbors to a meeting and led fearlessly at the state house. She was an absolute champion. Today, we have clawback forgiveness for Sandy families, in part because Fran refused to give up.
The lessons that Fran taught us about resilience, leadership, and perseverance are inspiring new organizers to make changes in their communities to this day. Her legacy will be one of power and hope.

Family. It is with heavy heart that I share we have lost a legend. Many of us were lucky enough to have met and worked with Fran Baronowitz. She was a long time Atlantic City and then Ventnor resident. A Sandy survivor who also showed up for healthcare.

She was the first person to ever show me a clawback letter. She organized ferociously for clawback forgiveness not just for herself but for everyone. She organized her whole neighborhood and community for recovery. We would not be the organization we are today without her contributions.

And. She was a great host and knitter. Anyone who went to her house was always well fed. And the last photo is of a teddy bear she knitted and gave my daughter. Thanks for all you do Fran. Rest in power. - Amanda

If you’re worried about the rising cost of your healthcare, tell your Representatives here: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-your-congressperson-stand-for-healthcare-we-can-all-afford?source=direct_link&

If your health insurance bills are too high, if you hate mountains of paperwork getting in the way of you and your necessary appointments, or if you are facing higher costs for worse care, your Congressional Representative needs to know. By telling our stories, we can move our officials to act in OUR interest, not the interest of healthcare corporations or their investors. Send them a letter to remind them that they work for us, and we deserve affordable healthcare.

Tell your representatives to co-sponsor the FEMA act at https://njorganizing.us/FEMAAct, because disaster survivors deserve more, not less.

We have some wins to celebrate! Kristi Noem got fired, and Congressman Jeff Van Drew signed onto the FEMA Act. But we know no one person can fix a broken system. We still need an independent, streamlined FEMA that gets people the funds they need to rebuild. Use our prewritten letter or add your story to let your representatives know that a funded, functional FEMA is critical.

Did you know that Monday was the Affordable Care Act’s 16th birthday? To celebrate, our sister organization New Jersey Resource Project hosted a Healthcare Teach-In at the Atlantic County Council of Education Associations union hall. We got real with people about the state of healthcare, shared and listened to stories about how regular people are affected, and took action to make sure healthcare stays accessible to all. Do you want us to come to your community next? Come to the next Not One More meeting on Thursday, April 9th at 6pm on Zoom for more information. Register here: njorganizing.us/NOTONEMORENJMTG
