🎃VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY: OUR SPOOKTACULAR NEEDS YOU! 🚨l🎃

The ghosts are ready. The ghouls are gathering. The Halloween fun is planned. 👻

There’s just ONE tiny problem… WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Our Halloween Spooktacular is happening THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, but we’re still short on helping hands. And without more volunteers, we may have to trade our spooky spectacular for a very sad, very unspooky Friday night. And nobody wants that.

THE GOOD NEWS: You do NOT have to give up your entire evening! Can you spare just ONE HOUR? Can you help us set up before the fun begins?

We promise we’re not asking you to fight zombies (probably). Just lend a hand, help things run smoothly, and make some awesome memories for our kids!

We truly cannot pull off this event without more volunteers. If you’ve been thinking about helping with a PTO event, this is your moment to swoop in like the Halloween superhero we desperately need.

Please sign up to volunteer! Even one hour makes a HUGE difference. Grab a friend, split the shift, and come be part of the fun!

Let’s make this Spooktacular happen! Our kids are counting on us, and right now, the PTO is counting on YOU!

Sign up here today!

We are currently collecting donations for the 5/6 Cares Drive! We are collecting neutral colored cold weather clothing, as well as gift cards to Giant, Target, or Amazon.
All items can be dropped off in the boxes located in the front vestibule (car line drop off) or at the bus loop entrance.
Thank you so much for your support!

The Spooktacular is October 23! Purchase your bracelet by 10/16 to get it for discounted $10. Bracelets are $15 starting 10/17 and at the door. Everything is included except pizza, pretzels and drinks.

HOWEVER, we still need volunteers to help put this event on! The PTO wants to continue hosting events for our students and school community, but we can’t do it without the help of more volunteers! Please consider giving an hour of your time to set up, supervise an activity or help clean up.

Visit www.gvfivesixpto.org to purchase your bracelets and sign up for a volunteering shift!

Thanks to Mrs. Ortenzi, we now are set up with BoxTops for education, too! No more cutting our cardboard and putting it in the ziplock bag 😭 now it’s an app and scan your receipt! Check out the link and start earning for the 5/6 Center.

Tonight’s Zoom meeting attacks via chat and video were unacceptable, indefensible, and frankly, absolutely disgusting. Obviously, they don’t represent the PTO’s values or mission. They are under investigation and have been reported to administration and will be elevated to the district level at minimum. We will work with them and follow their guidance through this process.

Unfortunately, our zoom option for PTO meetings will no longer be an option. We hope that many can come in person with our childcare provided and early meeting time of 6pm (typically meetings will only run 35-45 minutes). If you have other suggestions to make meetings more accessible, please let us know.
