Middle-Aged Man Sees 5K Fun Run Flyer, Questions The Word “Fun”
MALVERN, IA — A local middle-aged man reportedly saw the flyer for the 3rd Annual East Mills PTO 5K Fun Run/Walk and immediately became concerned about the definition of “fun.”
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30th at 9:00 AM at Boehner Park in Malvern, with check-in starting at 8:30.
After reading the words “5K” and “Fun Run” in the same sentence, the man was heard quietly saying: “A fun run? That doesn’t sound fun to me at all.”
He later clarified:
“I have a hard time driving 5K.”
👉 jokes aside, this is a great event for a great cause. Proceeds help support East Mills classrooms and give students the chance to experience educational field trips across the state — the kind of hands-on learning that sticks with kids long after the bus ride home.
👉Registration is required, and the event is open to everyone:
Kids 4 and under are free, school-age kids are $5, adults are $20, and families of 3 or more are $30. [email protected]
And for anyone suddenly realizing their cardio situation may be “concerning but fixable,” Club 321 in Malvern is open 24/7 and ready to help you get from “I don’t run unless something is chasing me” to “I might survive the first mile.”
REAL TALK: Support the East Mills PTO. Support the kids. Support the field trips. And maybe support your own lungs a little at Club 321.
