Happy National Bosses Day to Paul, Amy, and John!

At Bringing Hope Home, the heart behind our mission starts with the people who lead it. We’re so grateful to have leaders who care deeply about our Families, believe in the work we do, and make our team feel supported along the way. From the laughter and fun they bring to the workplace to the encouragement they give us to learn, grow, and try new things, they help make BHH a place where we can do meaningful work while being ourselves.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re recognizing Hispanic BHH Families and the importance of ensuring every Family feels supported, understood and cared for throughout their cancer journey.

Bringing Hope Home has provided financial and emotional support to more than 775 Hispanic Families since our founding, including more than 80 Hispanic Families so far this year. For one Family, that support meant being able to catch up on overdue rent and find some much-needed relief during an already difficult time.

We’re grateful to be able to ease some of the financial stress Families face during cancer treatment, and we’re especially thankful for team members like Norma, our Bilingual Family Outreach Coordinator, who speaks Spanish with Families who prefer it to help make navigating our programs a more comfortable experience.

For 18 years, Vicki has been a steady and trusted part of the Bringing Hope Home Team. While so much of her work happens behind the scenes, the care and dedication she brings to her role as our Controller is an important part of what allows us to do what we do for Families facing cancer. We’re so grateful for the years of knowledge, commitment, and hard work she has given to BHH and the role she has played in helping our mission grow.

Oh what a night! ✨ Thank you to Deborah Van Cleve and Suzy Pratowski for hosting a wonderful evening of networking, music and connection at Patriots Hall at Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge! We’re so grateful that a portion of the proceeds will benefit Bringing Hope Home and the Families with cancer we support.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re sharing Yarisel’s Story of HOPE. 🩷

Diagnosed at just 29 years old, Yarisel never imagined facing breastcancer while raising her young son and building a future with her family. Through the difficult days, unexpected challenges and uncertainty about what lies ahead, her family remains her greatest motivation to keep going.

When the financial strain of cancer added another layer of worry, Bringing Hope Home helped ease some of that burden. For Yarisel, the support was about more than assistance with household expenses. It was a reminder that her family wasn’t facing this journey alone.

Yarisel hopes others facing cancer remember that “you are more than your diagnosis.” Her story is a beautiful reminder to hold close the people we love, accept help when we need it and keep making room for HOPE, even through the hardest days. 💗

When Fran and Megan were recognized for their birthdays during Suzy’s speech at this month’s event benefiting Bringing Hope Home, they turned the celebration into an opportunity to give back. They invited the women in the room to make a donation to BHH as a birthday gift, turning their special day into something even more meaningful. 🧡

We are honored to have been selected as the Give Back partner for the Baltimore Cisco Partner Appreciation Event & BBQ Competition!

Paul and Kristin had the opportunity to connect with an incredible group of professionals for a day filled with generosity, community and collaboration. For Kristin, our new Development Manager for the Baltimore Area, it was a wonderful introduction to the HOPE Nation Baltimore community and the beginning of what we hope will continue to be a meaningful, lasting partnership.

Thank you to Cisco for choosing Bringing Hope Home and to everyone who helped make this event such a success. HOPE Nation, please join us in celebrating Judy and her work anniversary as our incredible Family Department Administrator! 🎉

For so many Families, Judy is one of the first friendly voices they hear when they connect with BHH. Her calm, compassionate, and caring nature has a way of making people feel comfortable right away, and she brings that same thoughtfulness to everything she does for our Families, Social Workers, and team.

But for Judy, connecting with a Family is about so much more than just a phone call. The genuine relationships she builds often continue long after that first conversation, with many of her connections growing into lasting friendships and meaningful relationships with BHH.
