We couldn’t have said it better. Grateful for our law enforcement officers and departments! 💙
During National Police Week 2026, we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in the service of others. These heroes accepted a calling greater than themselves and made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our communities.
A fallen officer leaves behind more than a badge and uniform—they leave behind families, friends, and coworkers forever impacted by their courage. Their names will never be forgotten, and their legacy lives on through those who still serve today.
Today, law enforcement faces unprecedented challenges. While the demands of the job—public scrutiny, mental health stress, and evolving technology—have grown, fewer people are choosing this profession. Yet, despite these hurdles, the men and women of law enforcement continue to step forward:
• They work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• They run toward the situations others escape.
• They miss time with their own families so that yours can feel safe.
Here in Auglaize County, we are incredibly grateful for the support shown to us by the communities we serve. The partnership between our citizens, first responders, dispatchers, EMS, fire personnel, and law enforcement is our greatest strength.
From all of us at the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, thank you to every law enforcement officer, dispatcher, corrections officer, and support professional—past and present.
We encourage you to visit www.odmp.org Take a moment to read the stories of the heroes who never made it home. Learning their names and their stories is one of the most powerful ways to ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten.
