Yesterday, our Trail Life troop and American Heritage Girls had the privilege of participating in the Flag Day ceremony with our local Elks Club. It was an incredible honor to support this meaningful event, honoring our flag and community!

Our Troop just completed its very first backpacking campout and it was awesome!

Four boys and four adults hiked nearly two miles in (and two miles out) with full packs to beautiful Skiff Pond in the Adirondack Park. We spent two nights camping in the woods.
The boys got to fish and caught some nice brook trout. We even found a canoe at the pond and enjoyed paddling out on the water! We went through the most firewood we’ve ever used — cutting and burning almost a full cord. The boys worked hard on wood prep, water filtration, and enjoyed great meals together. We also had meaningful Bible devotions around the campfire each night.

The trip was challenging (nights dropped into the low 30s), but the days warmed up into the beautiful 60s. It pushed us in the best way and created memories we’ll never forget.

So proud of these young men & Old Men! This is what Trail Life is all about.

A big thank you to Officer Lavigne and K9 Rodo from the Malone Police Department for visiting our Trail Life troop last night. It was a fun and informative evening, and the boys had a great time asking questions and watching Rodo in action.

A special thank you as well to Mr. Jordan from our troop for volunteering to wear the K9 training vest and take a couple of training bites from Rodo. That definitely made for a memorable demonstration.

We are grateful for the time Officer Lavigne and K9 Rodo spent with us. It was a great experience for everyone and gave us an even greater respect for our officers and their K9 partners.

And we can't forget about Mr. Jon and his side kick Buddy. Buddy is our Troop mascot always happy and looking for a snack or leftovers at campouts like Jon.
