When we started our community outreach program in 2023, we were excited to see what God's plan was and where it would take us. We never thought it would grow like it has! What started as 2 has grown into 11! We began donating to Franklin County Foster Care giving 2 or 3 quilts a month. Then it grew to 5 a month. 60 a year!

We have since began donating to Clinton County Foster Care. Also donating 5 a month. 60 a year. I cannot believe what God has enabled this small group of volunteers to accomplish. 120 quilts a year! That is beyond anything I could have ever dreamed or imagined.

Our great group of ladies call ourselves "Sewing Sisters". And have an ongoing joke between us that our amazing leader/teacher (Louise) is our "boss" and we all work in a sweat shop every Thursday! Honestly the sweating is caused from laughing more than working! We have so much fun doing what we do.

We have been doing a fundraiser for about 3 weeks now and the support and love our program has been blessed with brings tears to our eyes. We know with 100% certainty this is what God has called each one of us to do.

Thank you to our great community and supporters near and far for helping us continue to bless children coming into foster care. We want to give them something special of their own at a very scary, difficult time in their lives. Each quilt says "May God wrap you in a blanket of His love today ". And we know He will.

I know this post is very long, but please share so everyone knows how thankful we are for their help and the opportunity to do what we do.

We made 3 quilts today! A new record for us. We made them from extra squares from other projects. This was the first time since we started sewing quilts in 2023 that we have done this. It was really fun to do and see how they would turn out. It took 152 blocks to make them and we still have some left. But it cut our stack in half. So great to use what we already have to create new projects.

Sewing class now meets every other week. No class tomorrow. We meet again next week Friday October 2nd at 6.

Read this: Imagine being a child who has just been told they must leave their home.
A few belongings are hurriedly packed into a small bag. Everything familiar is suddenly gone. New faces. New places. A lot of uncertainty.

For many children entering foster care, this moment is one of the most confusing and frightening experiences of their young lives.

That’s where our mission begins.

Our volunteers come together to create handmade quilts for children entering foster care. Each quilt is stitched with care, patience, and compassion so that when a child arrives in a new place, they are given something that is theirs to keep—something warm, comforting, and made just for them.

A quilt may seem simple, but to a child who has lost so much, it can mean everything. It can be a sense of safety. A hug when they need one most. A reminder that someone they’ve never met cares deeply about them.

But we can’t do it alone.

Our quilting program runs entirely on donations, and right now we are in need of 100% cotton quilting fabric, batting, thread, and quilting supplies from our Amazon wish list so we can continue making quilts for the children who need them.

If you feel moved to help, please consider purchasing an item from our list or sharing this message with others. Every donation—no matter the size—becomes part of a quilt that will wrap a child in warmth, comfort, and love during one of the hardest moments of their life.

Together, we can remind these children that they are not forgotten.
That they are cared for.
And that even in the hardest moments, kindness can still surround them.
