American Legion Auxiliary Unit 219 Malone, NY Our mission is to support the American Legion, to honor the sacrifice of those who serve, veterans, We are the American Legion Auxiliary. We are called to serve.

We respect our country and the service of those who defend our freedoms. We are loyal to our United States Constitution and to those who protect it. We are humbled by the courage of our veterans and their families. We are alone, yet we stand together. We are daughters, brothers and sisters, mothers, and fathers. We are family. 🇺🇸 **HOMETOWN HERO WEDNESDAY** 🇺🇸
*A New Americanism Series from American Legion Auxiliary Unit 219*

This week, we are proud to recognize Jennifer Yando as our Hometown Hero! ❤️🤍💙

Jennifer retired from North Country Preschool, but retirement certainly hasn’t slowed her down when it comes to helping others. Since retiring, Jennifer has continued to give her time, energy, and heart to our community through countless volunteer efforts.

Jennifer has brought a little extra magic to the holiday season by creating Santa’s Magical Red Mailbox , where she helps make sure children receive special letters from Santa. 🎅❤️ Her kindness and creativity have brought smiles to so many children.

She is also an active volunteer with the Malone Adult Center, helping create and support all kinds of wonderful events and activities for our older adults. Jennifer is a strong supporter of our community and a wonderful voice for many.

When our community has needed a helping hand, Jennifer has been there. She has been seen standing in line to help hand out food, milk, and other necessities when people needed them most.

Jennifer’s willingness to step up, volunteer, and help others is a wonderful example of what being a Hometown Hero is all about.
