It has taken me 5 months to respond to the death of my beloved friend and cousin, Martha Amburgey. The way I found out I immediately broke into tears with Bambi. I never watch commercial television and don't always get notices from the funeral homes. I found out a month afterwards, now it 5 full months on the 11th of Jan. 2025 and my heart is still broken. She was a hard sincere worker, but had a great sense of humour and could make me laugh when I was down or worried. She was one- of- a-kind for sure. I still feel hard to put into words our loss. I've always loved her whole family and their loving kindness. God be with you in our loss. She felt more like a sister than my own sisters. As wordy as I can be, I'm at a loss in this passing of such a beautiful soul. Love you family and my prayers are still with you. I'll give you a call Bambi soon. — Cousin David R. Smith, last President of the Amburgey Family Association.

Thanks to her daughter Benji Collins. Ruth is not only a cousin on the Amburgey and Adams side but was my neighbour in Washington, D.C. in the Patterson Apartments. Congressman Carl C. Perkins and I had an underground passageway to visit Ruth who always had cookies and goodies. She had fish and birds in her apartment which we loved to watch, but she was always so genteel with us as kids. She and Dr. John Wesley Duke's grandson, Dr. James Wesley Turpin are but a few days apart in age. She has a beautiful heart and I love it when she calls to talk with me.
