Martha Lynn Amburgey Obituary
Martha Lynn Amburgey, age 62 of Mallie, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday September 11, 2024, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. She was born on November 7, 1961 in Carr Creek, Kentucky to the late John D. and Cora Mullins Amburgey.
Martha was born and raised at Carr Creek, Kentucky. She later in life started working with LKLP and retired in 2019. Her co-workers were like her family. She loved and admired them all. She was compassionate about her family and friends. Even though she had no children, her nieces and nephews were considered her own. She loved spending time with her family. Her hobbies were crafting and attending festivals. She attended Isom Presbyterian Church until she became sick and was unable to attend. Her church family was very important to her. She loved the Lord and gave her sisters a testimony that she had made peace with the Lord and was ready to go to her forever eternal home.
Martha is survived by her Brother- Alonzo “Hotrod” Amburgey
Sisters- Lawana “Bambi” (Marvin) Thornsberry, Betty (Leo) Thornsberry, Mona (Kesha) Sammons; Nieces- Amanda, Kristie, Kathy, Jessica and Heather; Nephews- Robert and Madison; A Host of Loving Friends & Family
Martha is preceded in passing by her Parents — John D. and Cora Mullins Amburgey; Maternal Grandparents — Herman and Callie Mullins; Paternal Grandparents — Maryland and Martha Amburgey; Sister — Jonnie Wright; Brother-in-law — Robert Sammons.
The family will receive friends Friday September 13, 2024, from 6PM-10PM at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home Chapel in Hindman, KY with service at 7PM.
Funeral Services will be Saturday September 14, 2024, at 11AM at the funeral home with Ronnie Combs, Bordes Slone and others officiating. Burial will follow at the Vance Cemetery in Pinetop, KY. Martha will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
