The Preston’s Planet Foundation is a CA non-profit 501c3, that is inspired by a little dog named Preston and his desire to leave a pawsitive pawprint on the world. Our mission is to rescue, protect and train animals, with a focus on domesticated animals who provide service, therapy, and companionship to people in need. We are passionate about the potential for animals to heal and benefit humankind
, with our love, guidance, and positive reinforcement training. We endeavor to help animals leave a pawsitive impact on deserving women and children, by supporting the human-animal bond with service dog training, therapy dog outreach and free community education. OUR PROGRAMS
1) Service Dog Training - PRESTON’S Angels
We will raise, train and provide psychiatric service dogs to women and children, particularly those who have been victims of trauma, or suffer from disabilities not commonly served by other service dog organizations. Our goal is to find the best service dog prospects, thanks to relationships with both ethical rescues and reputable breeders. We are focused on finding the right match for our humans in need, with the intention of creating a lifelong, mutually-reciprocal impact, that is cultivated through science-based training methods.
2) Therapy Dog Outreach - The PAWtastics
Our certified, trick-trained, therapy dog all-stars will visit hospitals, nursing homes, children's camps and other facilities housing people in need of a smile, with the mission of bringing joy, and providing comfort. The Pawtastics founding dogs, Delilah & Penelope, have been volunteering with the Dream Street Foundation and other organizations for over a decade. We can’t wait to continue Preston’s passion for therapy work, with a focus on special event-based outreach, to attract a younger demographic of therapy dog volunteer teams.
3) Free Community Education - C.A.R.E. Think of the vintage D.A.R.E. program, but with dogs! We plan to offer various community programs to support families in need with training guidance, to keep their dogs in their homes, and out of the shelter. Our PAWtastic volunteer teams will perform at events and schools in under-served communities to entertain and inspire, teaching dog bite prevention, body language, wellness care and positive reinforcement training in a fun, interactive learning atmosphere.
