We love our Skirball Wednesdays!

Today, we are continuing work on The Wheat Project. We began the project at Shavuot and have been diligently, joyfully and playfully working on it ever since.

June is a wonderful mix of spring and summer: always shift-shaping between gray skies and sunshine and cool mornings and hot afternoons. It's the perfect month to celebrate diversity and change.

While there are always opportunities to do just that, we welcome the reference points and calendar observances that June provides.

National Great Outdoors Month sets the stage for World Environment Day (6/5) and National Garden Week (6/7-6/13). And, of course, at Shemesh Farms, we are partial to all of these celebrations. We love that nature creates rainbows in the sky after a rain and we love the rainbow of colors found everywhere on this planet. We celebrate and elevate the diversity of each human and are proud to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month because we know that the sun shines on ALL of us.

Juneteenth reminds us that we are not free until we all our free, and that change takes work and can be painful. The summer solstice brings with it the longest day - the most light of the 365 in the western hemisphere - with the ease and grace that only nature can make possible.

We cheer the caterpillar and the butterfly and cheers to June!

Jewish American History Month provides the opportunity to honor our past while celebrating our present.

By acknowledging those who went before - those who paved the way and planted roots - we get to take our que from them and continue to grow and thrive.

Today, we participated in partnership: three Jewish organizations coming together: , / and /.

Today, and every day, we are grateful for our heritage and the opportunity to continue the journey.

We continue to honor the bees, the ceaseless givers of life. And, even the busy bees know that rest is part of the life cycle.

May your Shabbat BEE joy-filled, peaceful, connected and meaningful.

From our hive to yours, Shabbat Shalom.

Today is World Bee Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of bees and other pollinators. The U.N. declared this day (May 20) to highlight how crucial bees are for food production, biodiversity and environmental sustainability. Only with bees and other pollinators is a healthy future possible for humankind and the planet.

May we all be grateful for the bees and put our gratitude into action by ensuring their future so we ensure ours.
