Senior Wildfire Preparedness Event in Malibu

Join the Malibu Community Long-Term Recovery Group, in partnership with California Community Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of Malibu, and the American Red Cross, for a free evening of community, connection, and preparedness.
This event is designed to help seniors and community members feel more informed, supported, and prepared for wildfire season.

As we reflect on Mental Health Awareness Month, we are incredibly grateful for the support of our community. 💙

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and helped spread the word, and a special thank you to Munch & Pops for their generosity and commitment to making mental health accessible. Your support helps Boys & Girls Club of Malibu provide counseling, wellness services, trauma-informed care, and recovery support for youth and families when they need it most.

While Mental Health Awareness Month may be over, the need for support continues year-round. This campaign raised critical resources that will directly support youth and families throughout the coming year. Thank you for helping create hope, healing, and a stronger community.

🌿⛵ Boat builders at work! Members designed and built mini boats from natural materials while testing what floats, what sinks, and how shapes make a difference. Along the way, they practiced kindness by sharing ideas, helping teammates, and showing respect for nature through thoughtful material collection. Kindness Is Free Org

Backpacks packed, kindness spread 💙🎒

Alongside Kindness Is Free Org, we were proud to support students at Horace Mann Elementary with backpacks and school supplies to help set them up for a successful school year ahead. Students also took the Kindness Pledge, making Horace Mann Elementary an Official Kindness School! To celebrate this achievement, the school was presented with a plaque to proudly display as a reminder of their commitment to creating a culture of kindness.

And the fun didn’t stop there! Students enjoyed games, raffles, and a day filled with connection and celebration with friends. Because when youth feel supported, celebrated, and surrounded by kindness, they carry that feeling far beyond the classroom.

Showing gratitude, sharing kindness, and reminding others they are appreciated and loved can make a meaningful impact! This week, members participated in a gratitude game where they tossed a ball to their friends and shared something they were grateful for, creating moments of connection, encouragement, and kindness with every catch.
