One of our favorite things here at Mending Kids is when we hear about how the surgeries we have done have affected a child’s life. Recently, Richard and Jennifer Winters from the U.S., reached out to us after hearing about the work we do in Luoyang, China. They had adopted this beautiful boy, Roland, who was abandoned and orphaned because he was born with a complicated health condition. Since 2011, the Mending Kids team has been traveling to China annually to perform unique surgeries on orphaned children, like Roland. Over 70 children have been mended by our team, and over 30 of those children have been adopted.
Roland is now a happy, healthy boy living a new life with his family in the U.S. When Richard and Jennifer heard learned more about we do, they reached out to become ongoing supporters of our mission in China, and may even join us on a mission in the future. Thanks to supporters like the Winters family, more kids in China will have hope for a future.
