This Sundowner features a special installation of “Memory Tea House” by artist We invite you to embrace connection, compassion and the power of community. Hear from creative activists who are shifting the culture around mental health and wellness.

Artist Faith-Ann Kiwa Young will debut Memory Teahouse, a contemplative textile installation and gathering space constructed from translucent fabric works and suspended memory papers. The installation invites visitors to slow down, reflect, and share memories connected to Malibu and the California coastline in the wake of recent fires.

Blending elements of Japanese spatial aesthetics, participatory ritual, and atmospheric installation, Memory Teahouse transforms an ordinary room into a temporary space for reflection, remembrance, and quiet connection. Developed during an artist residency with the City of Santa Monica and with support from the Doan Foundation, the project is intended to evolve beyond this debut as an ongoing space for collective reflection and healing.

Please join Creative Visions for a special screening of Breaking Boundaries - Monday, February 23rd at 6 pm - with a reception and Q&A with Dina Burlis, director, and Ksusha Genenfeld, videographer, moderated by Allyson Davis of Allez! Sports. The documentary explores Black representation in elite gymnastics through the eyes of Nastasya Generalova.

Breaking Boundaries looks at Nastasya’s personal journey of resilience and ambition as the only Black girl in rhythmic gymnastics Team USA, as well as her relationship with her white Russian mother in the stressful lead up to Tokyo Olympics qualification - while navigating identity and self-love.
