Our global network has been highly active on the world stage and at home the last few months!

We’ve sent dedicated youth delegations to advocate for health and peace at the World Health Assembly in Geneva, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference in New York, and the International Federation of Medical Students Associations General Assembly in Denmark.

Closer to home, our student chapters continue to drive change through educational campaigns, community outreach, and regional advocacy.
♻️IPPNW students in Nairobi organized the annual waste cleanup campaign and education program, and an art contest for peace!
🕺Medical students in Berlin are fundraising for asylum reform with a dance party
📚The Mongolia chapter is working on nuclear awareness
🎉And, we are so excited to celebrate the launch of a new chapter: Sudanese Medical Students for Social Responsibility Sudanese Medical Students for Social Responsibility!

Check out our student newsletter to read about these initiatives and so much more from our student chapters around the world:

A few weeks ago, we attended the 79th World Health Assembly with IPPNW. We participated in side events, hosted our own, and advocated for medical peace work in student curricula.

Hear from Anna Khouri, one of our International Student Representatives, about meeting with youth networks and global medical activists, and engaging with work on climate change, peace, and health.

What an inspiring week in Copenhagen! 🌍✨

Our International Student Representative Anna Khouri attended the 75th IFMSA General Assembly in Copenhagen, bringing IPPNW’s message to one of the largest gatherings of medical students worldwide and representing the student voice for peace in health curricula.

Around 900 medical students from more than 120 countries came together for an incredible week of dialogue, learning, and connection.

Anna hosted a session on Medical Peace Work, highlighting why peace and health belong together in medical education and how, as future physicians, we are not only health professionals but also advocates for peace. Together with Pauline Gatmaytan, student volunteer at the IPPNW Geneva Office, she also represented IPPNW at the Student Activity Fair, meeting and exchanging ideas with students from across the globe and hearing what truly moves the next generation of doctors.

There were many unforgettable moments throughout the week — from the Gala Dinner celebrating IFMSA’s 75-year history, bringing together alumni across generations, to inspiring closing remarks from Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe.
A week full of inspiring conversations, new friendships, and renewed motivation to work for a healthier and more peaceful world.

Thank you for this incredible gathering — we’re already looking forward to the next one!

IPPNW students in Berlin join the celebrations and support for the TPNW with their 5 reasons:

1. There is no medical response
2. Prepare for peace, not for war
3. Climate justice!
4. Nuclear weapons uphold colonial structures
