Sadly today we lost Timmy to cancer he had seizure today at 9am and didn’t come back from it. Thank you Makawao vet for all you do and for helping him this morning. We will miss him so very much tell all the rest of the crew up there tell them we miss them very much.

TIME FOR MY ANNUAL POST - THESE TOADS ARE BAD BAD NEWS!!

We are in the midst of our rainy season which is when the deadly Cane Toad is most prevalent. Be careful to not leave pet food and water outside. They will attract the toads.

If your pet encounters and bites a Cane Toad the impacts will be almost immediate. They release a toxin, and if your dog tries to bite it or carry it, they can become sick and die in as little as 15 minutes without proper treatment.
If your dog bites one, wash the toad's toxins out of their mouth quickly using a hose for ten minutes, being careful not to direct water down their throat. Wipe gums and tongue with a dish towel to remove toxins. Get your pet to the vet!
Since these are an invasive species, they do not have any place in our ecosystem. If you must handle this toad with your hands, use protective latex gloves at all times.
