Little Grassy Camp Connecting People, Nature, and Christ There are other retreat lodges and cabins most of which are climate-controlled.

Little Grassy Camp is located south of Carbondale, IL, on 190 acres of hills and trees, adjacent to the 1,000-acre Little Grassy Lake. The property nestles up against the Shawnee National Forest and is bound by a covenant with the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge to exercise careful stewardship of the wildlife, vegetation, and land forms. ooking the lake, includes a hotel-style lodge, a dining hall with a meeting room furnished with cozy furniture and fireplace. The camp supports summer programs for spiritual formation in the Christian tradition, which are open to all. Confirmation programs and other specialized retreats occur throughout the year.

The St. Louis District on behalf of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, has released the draft Environmental Assessment for the Little Grassy Lake Dam Safety Modification Study.

The study evaluates alternatives to reduce dam safety risks while considering potential effects on the environment, recreation and surrounding communities.

The public is invited to review the draft Environmental Assessment and submit comments through Aug. 27.

Looking for a way to help out camp this summer! Consider making a donation toward the service project the campers will complete this summer. Info below!

Our summer camp theme is "Love, Serve, Lead (And Beyond)" based on the new vision statement of the United Methodist Church. As campers are learning about joyfully serving others, they will get to put together hygiene kits for Midwest Mission. Consider assisting us in collecting these items to create a bigger impact in our communities.
