From exploring iconic landmarks to discovering postsecondary opportunities, a school trip to New York City made a lasting impression on two Maize USD 266 students!

With help from Student Enrichment Grants, Maize South Middle School's Amrie Smith and Maize Middle School's Samuel Wiseman explored new cultures, learned about city life, and discovered possibilities for their futures.

Through the 266 Club, we are building an endowment to support students and educators for generations to come.

From 3D printers and CPR equipment to calculators and sewing machines, foundation-funded projects have helped turn learning into hands-on experiences for Maize students.

Now, we’re building for the future.

Reach for the stars! 💫

That is exactly what Maize High School student Isla Wadsworth did this summer, when she attended Lunar Trek Space Camp at the Cosmosphere with help from Student Enrichment Grant funding.

From learning to solder and designing a 3D-printed moon rock scoop to building a prototype on a budget and presenting it to the entire camp, Isla gained vital skills, self-confidence, and a whole new appreciation for science.

Student Enrichment Grant applications are due one month from today!

Maize USD 266 students in grades 7 through 12 are invited to apply for Student Enrichment Grants of up to $500 to support opportunities such as leadership seminars, educational camps, community service projects, and more.

Recent Student Enrichment Grants have funded service projects, space camps, medical conferences, educational tours of Europe and Washington, D.C., and more.

Last Friday was a GREAT day to be an Eagle or a Maverick!

We had so much fun supporting all of Maize USD 266 at the annual Maize High School vs. Maize South High School football game! The first 600 fans at the game received a RED or GOLD Maize Education Foundation rally towel to show their school pride. Thank you to the board members and student volunteers who helped us distribute towels!

Then, between first and second quarters, we were able to hang out in the end zone to announce the winning school and educator from our giveaway earlier this month. Congratulations to Maize Intermediate School on receiving a donation of school supplies from Project Teacher, and congratulations to MIS Science Teacher Darmin Owings on receiving a $500 classroom stipend from the foundation!

We are proud to support Maize USD 266 inside classrooms and out on the turf. 🏈🍎

Thank you to everyone who joined us on at Reflection Ridge Golf Club on Monday for our 18th annual golf tournament!

The weather was perfect, the smiles were contagious, and we raised more than $52,000 in support of Maize Education Foundation programs.

A huge thank you to our presenting sponsors, Heartland Credit Union and Mel Hambelton Ford, and congratulations to the team from Keeter Roofing and Remodeling, who took home the gold!

We will SEE YOU MONDAY at Reflection Ridge Golf Club for our 18th annual golf tournament, presented by Heartland Credit Union and Mel Hambelton Ford!

Golfers can sign-in at the clubhouse beginning at 10:00 a.m. and we will tee off at 11:30.

We can't wait to spend a day on the green with you, raising funds to support Maize USD 266!

A trip to Washington, D.C. to stand beside the Eleanor Roosevelt Memorial.

A week at space camp to study physics and engineering.

A semester with the Wichita Symphony Youth Orchestra to make beautiful music.

These are just a few of the experiences that Student Enrichment Grants have helped fund for Maize USD 266 students recently.

When school started two weeks ago, we were thrilled to welcome every Maize USD 266 kindergartener with a special gift from the Maize Education Foundation: A book to call their own!

Each copy of "Kindergarten is Cool" included a welcome message from the foundation, letting our newest Maize students know that we’re cheering them on from the very beginning of their journey.

Maize USD 266’s Lead Forward Strategic Plan emphasizes reading proficiency, and we’re proud to support that goal by helping put books directly into the hands of some of our youngest learners.

We hope this year is filled with new discoveries and lots of reading. Remember: Kindergarten is COOL!
