It was an honor for our students to be invited and to share their points of view on math education. Thank you to Consortium of Florida Education Foundations for organizing this amazing event and for giving students a real seat at the table. What they asked for (time to struggle, understanding the WHY, and seeing where math leads in real careers) is exactly what math circles are built around. We're so proud of how thoughtfully they spoke!

The M in STEM showed up at the 5th Annual Levy Hughes Club College Fair! 🎓➗

Our student volunteers spent the evening at the Levy-Hughes Clubhouse in Parramore, sharing math opportunities beyond the classroom that look great on college applications and are open to every student:

🦘 Math Kangaroo USA Math Kangaroo, a national competition for K-12, Logic focused, that rewards creative problem-solving. We have teams registered at Tangelo and Levy Hughes this year!
📊 COMAP COMAP math modeling (HiMCM & MidMCM), where teams solve real-world problems, with free registration and free online OMc classes to prepare
🌉 FDOT Student Bridge Building Competition, where students design, build and test bridges at the regional contest on January 23, 2027. Our students have taken their modeling skills all the way to nationals!
☀️ OMC summer programs, including daily math enrichment at Boys & Girls Club Tangelo Park
🔧 STEM Fridays at Levy-Hughes, hands-on math and engineering right at the clubhouse
🎉 Winter Park Family Math Festival, the afternoon of January 23, 2027, so make it a full day of STEM!

What an inspiring day at the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations conference, “Communities That Count: Why Student Math Confidence is Everyone’s Business!” 📐✨

A special thank you to the Consortium for bringing together educators, community leaders, and students for such meaningful conversations about mathematics education.

It was especially wonderful to see students take center stage, sharing their experiences, perspectives, and passion for math. Their voices remind us of the importance of nurturing curiosity, building confidence, and creating opportunities for every student to discover their potential.

Our awesome student leaders and volunteers represented OMC at Audubon Park’s Night at the Nest! Everything was organized, planned and executed by students. There were some of our crowd favorite activities, like origami and chocolate fix! 💙
