In Guatemala, the end of the school year doesn’t mean learning stops.

We've partnered with Christian schools to offer six weeks of academic reinforcement — English, math, Bible, crafts, and more — became something no one expected: an open door to the gospel.

Families came for the classes. They stayed for devotionals, prayer, and an invitation to Vacation Bible School. Some registered their children for the following school year before the current one had even ended.

One of the school directors said it best:

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

This is Christian school strengthening. And it’s just getting started. 🌱 https://mvi.org/guatemala-school-strengthening/

The mission behind the mission.

The part you don't usually see is the part that makes the rest possible: the care, leadership, and accountability that keep the people we send on the field for the long haul. That's Core Mission.

We're not just closing a campaign this week. We're starting a season, with new fields and new families preparing to go. For those of you who've been looking for a way to invest in what's coming, this is it.

Two days left. 👉 https://mvi.org/fuel

🇲🇽 Join us in the Yucatán this October!

Scattered across the jungles and villages of the Yucatán Peninsula are hundreds of thousands of Mayans — many still living in the same communities their ancestors have called home for generations. Few have ever heard the gospel clearly presented in their own language and culture.

That's where The Message for Mayans comes in. MV missionary Gamaliel Gonzalez leads this ministry, bringing the gospel to unreached villages, discipling believers, and raising up the next generation of Mayan leaders — one village at a time.

This October, we're sending a team to stand with them. Will you go with us?

You'll go door-to-door and village-to-village with the gospel, serve alongside believers already laboring in these communities, and see firsthand what God is doing among the Mayan people.

"We want them to feel that they have a family, that there are lots of people behind them." — Lloyd Thabatha, our MV director in South Africa.

That's what your giving builds: the steady backing that keeps missionaries strong enough to stay for the long haul, and to hand the work to the people they came to serve.

Three days left in Fuel the Mission. One $25 gift makes you one of the people behind them.

❄️ Below freezing, a tent full of shepherds' communities, and two kids seeing their dad's mission work firsthand for the very first time.

This month, MV South Africa director Lloyd Thabatha brought his children with him to Lesotho to encourage a life-changing ministry for shepherd boys who live in the mountains, far from school and home, for months at a time.

Over five nights, in temperatures dropping below -5°C (23°F), more than 50 people gave their lives to Christ. But one moment stuck with Lloyd more than any other: his daughter watching a boy come into the crusade tent limping on a stick, then watching him walk on his own the very next day.

"My daughter was just surprised," Lloyd said. "She kept on saying, 'Daddy, I saw him when he came with that stick. I can't believe God really healed him.'"

His son had a realization of his own after meeting real shepherds for the first time in his life: "I thought shepherds were in the Bible, in the olden days." Now he knows they're not just a Sunday school image, but a mission field his own father drives eight hours to reach.

We love celebrating not only the ministry efforts of our MV family, but the impact it makes on our MV kids too. 🙏

Twenty-five years ago, a part of the Amazon in northern Peru where rivers do the work of highways had barely heard the name of Jesus. Today the Shawi people run the work themselves with at least 38 growing churches, nine teams of pastors reaching more than 70 villages, an association that credentials its own pastors and makes its own decisions.

One of those pastors recently sent word about a typical week: he'd baptized 5 new believers in one village, then helped another church work through a conflict. To him, none of it seemed remarkable.

"This is their life now. Preaching, visiting, baptizing, shepherding churches, solving problems, faithfully serving Christ. What felt extraordinary to me has become ordinary to them," shared MV missionary Josh Hire.

That's the goal. Not a mission field that leans on us forever, but a church that owns the gospel for itself and carries it further into the jungle than any of us could reach.
