Immunocompromised Association

Immunocompromised Association Immunocompromised Association is dedicated to raising awareness and support for immunocompromised individuals. Think of me Please Inc.

DBA Immunocompromised Association is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to provide education where needed and safer social support for immunocompromised individuals, reducing inherent health risks in the community. We are dedicated to improving the lives of those who are immunocompromised due to disease or treatment including those with primary or secondary immunodeficiencies, cancers, autoim

mune disorders, organ or tissue transplant recipients, infectious diseases, immunosuppressive treatments, and anyone with a health condition who would benefit from our mission. A healthy immune system acts as protection from bacteria, viruses, and other airborne particles that can lead to infection. Certain disorders and medical treatments can suppress the immune system significantly. A suppressed immune system leaves a person vulnerable to illness, sometimes dangerously so. Immune system suppression makes it difficult for affected people to live daily lives, as ordinary exposure to commonplace pathogens can lead to illness or death. We are committed to reducing inherent health risks for immunocompromised individuals to have more fulfilling lives with less preventable health risks in the community.

Volunteer Lauren Mendelsohn has been nominated for the Inflamed Sister Thriving of the Year Award!

Lauren Mendelsohn is the founder and host of Our Strength Within, a podcast dedicated to empowering people living with chronic and invisible illnesses. Diagnosed with epilepsy at 19 after experiencing her first grand mal seizure, Lauren understands firsthand the challenges of living with an invisible condition. Her experience inspired her to create a space where people can share their stories, feel seen, and know they are not alone. Her story and the motivation behind the podcast are reflected in the post you shared about your epilepsy journey. Through honest conversations and shared experiences, Lauren's mission is to raise awareness, inspire hope, and help others find strength, resilience, and community, because no one should have to navigate their journey alone.

Lauren's nomination supports the Inflamed Sisters Thriving Scholarship Fundraiser, a community-powered initiative created to uplift and empower women living with autoimmune and auto-inflammatory conditions. Each year, nominees for the IST Awards come together to "pay it forward" by raising funds that directly support warriors in need who are striving to thrive personally, professionally, and in their advocacy journeys.
