Reminder for LMYSA families as we continue preparing for future seasons! 👀

Beginning Fall 2026, LMYSA age groups will follow an August 1 – July 31 birth year calendar. This update is intended to better match the school-year structure many of our families are already familiar with.

What this means:

⚽ Teams will be formed based on school-year alignment, so kids are more likely to play with classmates.
⚽ This change helps reduce players being separated from friends or forced to “play up.”
⚽ It aims to improve social experience, inclusivity, and player retention.

We know this is a change, so we’ll continue sharing reminders and information to help families understand what to expect.

Big picture update for LMYSA families as we look ahead to Fall 2026 and beyond: our soccer age groups will be moving to an August 1 – July 31 birth year calendar instead of January 1 – December 31. 💚💛

This change is designed to better align teams with school-year groupings and create a stronger overall experience for our players and families. Please take a moment to review the chart and see where your player will fall under the updated age group structure.

What this means:

⚽ Teams will be formed based on school-year alignment, so kids are more likely to play with classmates.
⚽ This change helps reduce players being separated from friends or forced to “play up.”
⚽ It aims to improve social experience, inclusivity, and player retention.

We know changes like this can bring questions, so we wanted to continue sharing this information early and clearly with our community.

Also, fall registration is coming up soon and is expected to open in late May/early June. More info will be shared soon! 👀

Starting Fall 2026, LMYSA age groups will move to an August 1 – July 31 birth year calendar. Please check the chart to see your player’s age group for Fall 2026 and beyond.

What this means:

⚽ It aims to improve social experience, inclusivity, and player retention.

U6 had an optional practice on Tuesday, and these four got to enjoy the whole park to themselves. We just had to recognize their dedication and love for the game. ⚽

They showed up ready to play, learn and make the most of their time on the field. Moments like this are such a great reminder of what youth soccer is all about.

We’re so proud of these players for their enthusiasm and commitment.

🚨 ALL GAMES WILL CONTINUE AS SCHEDULED. FIELDS ARE CLOSED FOR ALL PRACTICES TODAY, 4/29 🚨

All games scheduled this evening at Veterans will continue as scheduled.

All other fields; however, will be closed for practices this evening in order to allow the fields to recover after last nights substantial rainfall. Teams are welcome to find green space throughout the park to use during practice and, for those coaches interested, pop up goals are available in the LMYSA shed.

Please refer to our website for Field Status Updates, which are evaluated and updated by 4 pm each day, as necessary. www.lmysa.org/field-status
