Due to the Extreme Heat Advisory, all LMYSA fields will remain closed tonight and all practices are cancelled.

Stay cool and we’ll see everyone back on the fields one day...

⚠️ All Fields Closed for Tuesday, September 1 ⚠️

In the interest of player safety, all LMYSA fields are closed today and all practices are cancelled due to extreme heat.

⚠️ Heat Alert for Monday, 8/31 ⚠️

Due to the extreme heat, all 6–7 PM practices are cancelled today.

*Coaches who still wish to practice may use an open field or green space during the 7–8 PM practice slot, but this is at each coach’s discretion. Please watch for communication from your coach.

Any practices held tonight should include frequent water breaks, easy drills, minimal running and player safety as the top priority.

LMYSA teams can sign up to be ball kids for High School Varsity soccer games this season!

This is open to U08 Passers and up, and each game needs 6 players.

Players will help during the match, run out with the Varsity team, receive a team shout-out and get an up-close look at high school soccer in action.

Coaches, this is an awesome team experience. Grab a game before spots fill!

LMYSA families and coaches, with the recent heat, here’s an important reminder for player safety.

When the heat index hits 90°F+, hydration breaks should happen often.

Games: Hydration breaks should occur at least midway through each quarter.
Practices: Coaches should provide hydration breaks at least every 10 minutes.

Please don’t wait until a player is showing signs of heat-related illness. Staying ahead of hydration is the best way to help prevent an emergency.

Players should bring plenty of water, and coaches may want to bring extra water on especially hot days.

⛈️⚡ WEATHER REMINDER! ⚡⛈️

With storms in the area, here’s an important reminder for all LMYSA families, coaches and athletes:

👂 HEAR thunder? Play stops.
👀 SEE lightning? Play stops.

All fields must be cleared immediately. Play cannot resume until at least 30 minutes after the LAST sight of lightning OR sound of thunder in the area.

⚠️ Every new sight or sound resets the 30-minute clock.

Please don’t wait it out on the sidelines or try to squeeze in a few more minutes of practice. When thunder or lightning is present, everyone needs to clear the fields.
