Maine Emergency Squad, Inc.

Maine Emergency Squad, Inc. EMS Provider for the town of Maine, Nanticoke, Newark Valley, Berkshire and Richford. The Maine Emergency Squad, Inc.

is a full service emergency squad providing emergency medical services to the five rural hamlets that make up the Towns of Maine and Nanticoke since 2003. The Squad is comprised of dedicated volunteer and paid professionals who all work very hard to provide the highest level of EMS care available in New York State. Our emergency vehicles and state of the art lifesaving equipment is professionally

maintained and kept in โ€œready to rollโ€ condition at all times. Our primary responsibility is to provide emergency medical care to our community during an emergency. We also provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) assist services to our neighboring communities. We frequently respond to medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, motor vehicle crashes and most fires. When not responding to emergency calls, the Squad also provides stand by coverage to various sporting and community events in the area. In addition to our 911 services, we are a regional Training Center for many types of medical classes. Our goal is to train you on how to make a difference in your community, and potentially save a life! Located in the Nanticoke Valley, our response area covers a large area nearing 70 square miles. The Squad covers several popular recreational destinations including camp grounds, parks, outdoor use trails and hunting areas. We also provide primary EMS response services to the Greater Binghamton Regional Airport.

A devastating fire has left individuals and families in our community without a place to live. In a matter of moments, residents lost not only their housing, but also many of their personal belongings, clothing, medications, and essential items.

Today, our neighbors need us.

We are launching the Knights Inn Emergency Relief Fund to provide immediate assistance to those displaced by this tragedy. Donations will help meet urgent needs such as temporary housing, food, clothing, transportation, hygiene supplies and other critical supports as individuals and families begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

When crisis strikes, our community responds. Together, we can help ensure that those affected by this fire have the resources, support, and hope they need in the days and weeks ahead.

Physical/in-kind donations are not currently needed. Please call 2-1-1 if you are looking for a place to donate goods.

Good morning, Town of Maine!

Overnight, our parking lot was restriped to improve traffic flow, increase safety, and make the best use of our available space. The new layout consists of two single rows of parking with two driving lanes, which has also allowed us to gain additional parking spaces.

There are two important items we need to address:

๐Ÿš‘ No Parking Means No Parking

The hashed areas throughout the parking lot are designated NO PARKING ZONES. This is not a suggestion or a courtesy requestโ€”it is a mandatory restriction.

Our ambulances require significantly more room to maneuver than most people realize. Vehicles parked in these areas can delay emergency response times when seconds matter. The emergency delayed by an improperly parked vehicle could be for your family member, friend, neighbor, or loved one.

Please respect all parking markings and keep these areas clear at all times.

๐ŸšŒ School Pick-Up Traffic

To the parents and guardians who utilize our parking lot while waiting for buses to clear from Maine Memorial Elementary School:

Unfortunately, with the new parking lot configuration, our property can no longer be used as a staging or waiting area during student pick-up times. The new traffic pattern creates safety concerns when vehicles are stopped or waiting within the lot.

While we understand this may be an inconvenience, the parking lot is private property owned by Maine Emergency Squad, Inc., including the area adjacent to Dollar General. We respectfully ask that vehicles no longer use our lot to wait for school traffic or buses to clear.

๐Ÿ“ Property Boundary Clarification

We have received questions regarding where Maine Emergency Squad's property begins and ends. For clarification, our parking lot property includes all areas that were recently paved during the parking lot project. The property line between Maine Emergency Squad, Inc. and Maine Scoop is located at the edge of the newly paved area.

โš ๏ธ Private Property Notice

As the property owner, Maine Emergency Squad, Inc. reserves the right to have any vehicle removed or towed from the property when necessary. We sincerely hope this will never be required, and our goal is simply to maintain a safe and accessible environment for emergency operations.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation as we continue working to ensure our ambulances can respond quickly and safely when the community needs us most.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Today we would like to recognize EMT Green and AEMT Marcellus for representing Maine Emergency Squad, Inc. at the Career Fair held at the Veterans Arena! ๐Ÿš‘

Throughout the day they met with numerous high school students and community members, helping demonstrate what EMS is all about and what it means to serve the community as an emergency medical provider. From answering questions to sharing their experiences in EMS, they helped provide insight into the important work EMS professionals perform every day.

We are proud of both of them for taking the time to engage with future generations and positively represent Maine Emergency Squad and the EMS profession. Thank you both for your professionalism, dedication, and commitment to community outreach!
