ā¼ļøRANGER UPDATE ā Just Over 30 Days. ā¼ļø
Our mission in action. Caring for horses, mind, body, and soul.
Itās been just over 30 days since Ranger arrived, and looking at these two photos side by side really tells a story.
When Ranger came to us, he was suffering nutritionally. He was underweight and had lost muscle, but what we could see on the outside was only part of it. His bloodwork showed that his body was under strain, and you could see it in his overall condition and in the way he felt.
We quickly learned that Rangerās dental issues go far beyond neglect. His teeth are severely compromised, and he will never be able to chew normally again. So we created a diet specifically for himāone that works around his limitations and allows him to eat comfortably and actually get the nutrition his body needs.
And just over a month later, itās showing. Heās gaining weight, rebuilding muscle, and his coat is brighter. He looks better, but more importantly, he feels better.
Every morning Ranger heads out for his two-mile walk, and he spends his days grazing and surrounded by the other herds. He isnāt turned out with another horse just yet, but heās never far from the company of them.
And then thereās Rangerās personality.
He greets everyone he sees with the sweetest little nicker. It honestly feels like heās saying āthank youā every single time. He is such a gentle, grateful soul, and we absolutely love him.
This is what caring for horses mind, body, and soul looks like to us. Itās not simply giving a horse a safe place to land. Itās learning who they are, figuring out exactly what that horse needs, and giving them the opportunity to feel good and enjoy being a horse again.
Ranger has come a long way in just over 30 days, and something tells us his story here is only getting startedā¦
And if all goes as planned, Ranger may just have a new friend to share his pasture with very soon.
ā¤ļøš“ Stay tunedā¦
