Happy national running day! We are so grateful for the running community we have here at Run Mahomet. With your support, every step supports at risk children and the future of Mahomet.

All proceeds support MAYC and help keep the program active. MAYC provides after school care, break programming, snacks and meals, field trips, fun activities, and a safe place to learn and grow.

Heads up runners! We will have a price increase on Saturday, June 13th at 11:59PM. Prices will increase by $10, so make sure to get signed up if you haven't already!

We will have the Main Street Mile on Friday at 7:00pm with the 5K, 10K, and the half marathon beginning 7:00am the following Saturday morning. This race is perfect for beginners and seasoned runners alike as it supports local youth, so take this as your sign to register.

6 Tips for Beating the Heat! With summer approaching, it is time to start focusing on staying hydrated during runs in the summer heat. 🔥💧

1) Pre-Hydrate: Start hydrating well before your run.

2) Hydrate During Your Run: For runs longer than 30-45 minutes you might want to carry water with you, especially if it is hot and humid. Take small sips regularly rather than large gulps to avoid stomach discomfort.

3) Electrolyte Balance: Include electrolyte tablets or drinks during long runs to maintain balance and prevent cramps.

4) Post-Run Rehydration: A good rule of thumb is to drink 16-20 ounces of fluid with electrolytes after your run

5) Eat Hydrating Foods: Include water-rich foods in your diet such as fruits and vegetables.

6) Adapt to the Heat: Acclimate yourself gradually to running in the heat. Start with shorter, slower runs and gradually increase intensity as your body adjusts.

Course Information! 🏁

The Main Street Mile is along Main St in Mahomet, which is a flat, fast run with a scenic view of downtown Mahomet.

Our 5K, 10K, and half marathon are all on a flat, fast course with some gentle rolling hills during the 10K and half marathon. The races are primarily on village streets and paved county roads .

There are hydration stations and porta potties periodically throughout the course. 🚰

Refreshment and comfort stations are provided at the Runners Village at the end of the race.
