πŸ“šβœοΈ Supporting Our JOM Students & Their Classrooms! πŸ–οΈπŸŽ

The Mahnomen JOM Parent Committee was happy to donate snacks and classroom supplies to support our JOM students throughout Mahnomen Elementary!

Snacks, Clorox wipes, Kleenex, crayons, colored pencils, markers, glue and other supplies will be divided among all elementary classrooms, including Special Education classrooms, so our JOM students and the classrooms they learn in have a few extra things they need throughout the school year.

Supporting our JOM students also means supporting the teachers, staff and classrooms that support them every day. ❀️

We hope everyone has an amazing school year! πŸ“šβœοΈπŸ–οΈ

πŸ“’ Mahnomen JOM Parents & Guardians – Your Voice Matters

The White Earth JOM Program has released a parent survey that includes a question about creating one JOM Parent Committee for all White Earth eligible school districts.

We encourage all Mahnomen parents to complete the survey and share their thoughts.

We believe local JOM Parent Committees are important because they ensure parents have a direct voice in decisions affecting their students and school communities. Each district has unique needs, priorities, and challenges, and a single committee may reduce local representation and move decision-making farther away from the families it is intended to serve.

Local Parent Committees help ensure:
β–ͺ️ Parent voices are heard
β–ͺ️ Local needs remain a priority
β–ͺ️ Families have representation in their own school community
β–ͺ️ Opportunities for involvement and leadership remain accessible

Miigwech for helping ensure Mahnomen families have a voice in the future of the JOM program. Strong local parent involvement leads to stronger support for our students. β€οΈπŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ€

πŸ“£ Mahnomen JOM Update πŸ“£

We want to provide a quick reminder and clarification regarding JOM reimbursement requests and processing timelines.

βœ… The Mahnomen JOM Committee reviews reimbursement requests at the beginning of each month. Once approved, requests are forwarded to the Education Department for processing and payment.

⏳ Please allow approximately 2–6 weeks for processing after approval, depending on Education processing timelines and volume of requests received.

πŸ“Œ To help avoid delays:
β€’ Please ensure receipts and required documents are submitted on time
β€’ Late submissions may be pushed to the following month’s review meeting
β€’ Once approved and submitted, payment processing questions should be directed to the Education Department (Kim Scott-Neisen)

πŸ“§ Questions or submissions can be sent to:
[email protected]

You may also reach out to any Mahnomen JOM Committee member:
β€’ Gina Bower
β€’ Tiffany Blue
β€’ Cortney Pemberton
β€’ Jessica Goodwin
β€’ Destiny Zornes
β€’ Jessica Frederick
β€’ Danielle Bjerk

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through a high volume of requests each month. Thank you for supporting our students and families! β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€
