🏛️✨ A LITTLE HISTORY, A LOT OF MAGNOLIA PRIDE! 💚

The Leadership Magnolia Class of ‘26–‘27 spent the day together yesterday completing our History of Magnolia Tour, taking a closer look at the stories, people, and places that helped shape the community we call home!

We kicked things off at the Chamber of Commerce by learning about Magnolia’s history from Magnolia Community Developer, Kelli Souter. We then hit The Square for a walking tour of influential murals and locations that highlight important moments and pieces of our community’s story. Along the way, we also visited local treasures, including KZHE Radio Station, Magnolia Arts and the South Arkansas Heritage Museum.

From preserving our past to celebrating the creativity and culture that continue to shape our future, this experience reminded us just how much makes Magnolia special.

After all, understanding where we’ve been helps us envision where we’re going! ✨

✨ Leadership Highlight: Sally Shroyer✨

We’re wrapping up our ‘26–‘27 Leadership Magnolia introductions with Sally, a Harvest Forester with Rayonier and this year’s Leadership Magnolia Historian!

Originally from East Texas, Sally relocated to Magnolia after earning her degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. For the past three years, she has volunteered with CoCoRaHS, reporting daily precipitation and weather conditions. So, if you’ve seen a NOAA rainfall report for Waldo or Taylor, there’s a good chance Sally’s data helped make it happen! Sally is also joining this year’s Master Gardener Class, where she hopes to share her love for native plants with her fellow classmates. 🌱

And with that, Sally is our final class introduction! We’ve loved giving you a glimpse into the incredible people who make up this year’s Leadership Magnolia class. Now it’s time to see what this group can accomplish together!✨

✨ Leadership Highlight: Rachael Harrell✨

Meet Rachael, the ‘26–‘27 Secretary of Leadership Magnolia! Rachael has been with Peoples Bank for five years, currently serving as Loan Compliance Specialist. A Magnolia High School graduate and former SAU student, she is excited for the opportunity to become more involved and make a difference in the community she calls home. Rachael is married to Hunter Harrell and loves spending time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, hunting, and raising their two Labrador Retrievers, Sunni and Dutch!

She’s looking forward to meeting new people, creating meaningful connections, and finding new ways to give back to Magnolia. We’re excited to have Rachael as part of this year’s Leadership Magnolia class! ✨

🌟 Leadership Magnolia Team Highlight: Jana Bean 🌟

Meet Jana, a Capital Project Manager with Albemarle Corporation, where she supports the planning, ex*****on, and delivery of capital projects that enhance operational performance, reliability, and long-term business value.

A graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Jana brings a diverse professional background to her work, including experience in real estate development with Target Corporation and as a shopping center developer. As a volunteer, she also supports the Magnolia-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce as a Board Member and serves on their Finance Committee.

Jana is passionate about professional development, continuous learning, and finding practical, solutions-oriented approaches to every challenge. She believes that integrity, accountability, and teamwork are essential to achieving meaningful results and building strong professional relationships.

Outside of her career, Jana enjoys spending time with family, growing in faith, serving her community, and traveling.

We’re excited to have Jana as part of the Leadership Magnolia team and look forward to the experience, perspective, and leadership she brings to our community! 💙

Meet Marquita, who has been part of Crowell Wealth Management (Edward Jones) for the past five years! Marquita is a proud mother of six and a devoted wife to Tracy Jones. ❤️ She loves spending quality time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories, and building meaningful connections that often grow into lifelong friendships. Marquita has a deep love for her community and brings her heart, passion, and dedication to everything she does.

✨ Leadership Highlight: Aisleen Palmer✨

Meet Aisleen, a 2023 SAU graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management! After beginning her journey as an SAU+VISTA at the Magnolia Housing Authority, Aisleen loved the work so much that she joined the team full-time in 2025. 💙

Aisleen is passionate about volunteering, working with children, and teaching the importance of giving back to the community. She currently serves on our Marketing Committee, Supervisor for SAU+VISTA and Saddle Up and Serve, and Advisor for her Sorority’s Undergraduate Chapter all while pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration. She’s excited to be part of the Leadership Magnolia team and can’t wait to see the difference this class makes in the community! ✨
