Cooking4Courage is anchored by a sanctioned BBQ Cook-Off (some of the best in Texas!). TUFF Kids is for students grades K-12.

Texans United for Freedom (TUFF) is a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the purpose of raising funds for, bringing awareness to, and honoring our veterans, active military, and first responders. TUFF's sole purpose is to give back to those who give so much to us through social events and the support of other local organizations that further our goals and positively impact the lives of our

local veterans and first responders. Here are some of the ways we support our veterans and first responders:

COOKING4COURAGE: A fun annual event to raise funds for, bring awareness to, and honor our veterans, active military, and first responders. Attendees enjoy delicious BBQ, guest speakers, food & craft vendors, a co****le tournament, the TUFF Kids Cook-off, and live and silent auctions. Proceeds go toward PTSD recovery, re-acclamation, and employment as a civilian and other local Veteran/First Responder supported causes. BOOTS 2 BADGES: Boots2Badegs is an employment-focused scholarship program that provides returning veterans an opportunity to become a first responder. Through financial assistance, recipients can attend a local fire academy, emergency medical technician program, or police academy to train for a lifelong and meaningful career. The program also offers re-acclamation resources and employment support so that upon graduation, these veterans will be gainfully employed right here in Montgomery County. Texans United For Freedom (TUFF) began as a grassroots effort in Montgomery County. A group of friends who were already volunteering in their community wanted to create an organization that would give back 100%to Veterans and First Responders. One email, a meeting, and a shared commitment to service led to the creation of TUFF.
The name Texans United For Freedom was chosen intentionally. Texas is who we are and where this organization was built, with a vision from the beginning to grow and serve communities across our great state.
For the past 10 years, TUFF has proudly operated in Montgomery County. Today, we are excited to share an important milestone—TUFF remains one united organization and will now operate with two county chapters: Montgomery County and Washington County.This expansion allows us to extend our mission into new communities while maintaining a strong and connected foundation.
We are proud of the impact TUFF continues to have on Veterans, First Responders, and the communities we serve. TUFF is a 100% volunteer organization with no paid salaries, and every effort is focused on giving back.
As we grow, we are looking to build strong chapters in both counties. If you would like to be part of an organization committed to service, community, and honoring those who serve, we would love to hear from you.
