Meet my new friend Blake. Blake is 12 years old and lives in Prescott, Arkansas. Anna, his mom, reached out to us at the beginning of deer season asking if it would be possible for us to carry him hunting. His dad had promised him this would be the year they went hunting and Blake killed his first deer. Due to circumstances out of Blake’s control that was not a possibility.

Our schedules just never matched up until yesterday. Blake and I had one hunt to make it happen. We outfitted him in insulated bibs, jacket, boots, and hunter orange. I picked up his favorite snacks and we headed to the stand. We didn’t see a hair until last light when this trophy walked out. My man steadied the gun and squeezed the trigger. Dropped the deer in its tracks. The excitement on his face after the shot made every bit of the process and sacrifices well worth it.

I am very proud of Blake and a big thanks to his mom for reaching out to us so we could make this happen.

Also a Huge thank you to Michael Haynes at Bass Haven Lodge and Restaurant on Lake Erling. He provided a room for them to stay free of charge and we also had a fantastic meal yesterday evening at the restaurant.

Always thank you to our supporters. Without you these hunts would not be possible.

Whew! What a weekend! This past weekend we went on our 2nd Annual trip to Stuttgart. This is our big yearly trip. It costs a bunch of money to do this and we can’t thank our supporters enough. We were planning on taking 4 deserving kids on the trip this year. Unfortunately one came down sick the day before we left and was not able to go. We will make it up to him though.

The three kids that did go all had one thing in common. The loss of a parent. Two of them, brothers, have lost both parents in just a few short years. The other one lost her dad to cancer. This is a devastating event for children. We are very proud to be able to put a smile to thier faces this weekend. These memories will last forever.

All of the kids were provided with a camo duffel bag with their names embroidered on it, camo insulated overalls, rubber boots, Kade’s kids t-shirt, hoodie, and Kade’s kids beanie. We ate good and also experienced Mack’s Prarie Wings. Goose Grabbers was a top notch outfit and treated us great!

We had a blast and killed some geese. This was an experience these kids won’t soon forget. They were all very polite and extremely appreciative.

I always wonder if we are doing things right. If Kade would be proud. Before the first hunt the boys were getting dressed in the cargo trailer. They were excited about thier new camo. I overheard one of them say “these are nice, I look good. When you look good, you hunt good!” I believe that was Kade’s way of letting me know he was there with us. When Kade played sports he always had to look nice and he would say, when you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you play good. In that moment I felt his presence and was assured we are making him proud.

It is time for our yearly trip to the Stuttgart area! Duck and goose capital of the world.

December 10th
-Meet the guide for a morning hunt
-have lunch
-head home

The trip will be guided by Goose Grabbers.

All guns, ammo, and gear will be provided for the kids.

Parents are welcome to purchase a hunting license and hunt as well.

Older children do not have to be accompanied by a parent to go on hunt.

Please nominate deserving kids by messaging us on Facebook. Please write a short backstory about them and why they deserve the trip.

If they need adaptive help do not hesitate to nominate them. We will get it figured out!
