Vendor news!

The Organizers report that about half of the available spots for Vendors at the Magna Main Street Arts Festival happening on August 15th, 2026 have now been filled. If you have been waiting to apply, get your inquiry in soon. The application process is easy, starting with a few simple questions where you describe your proposed booth, and how to contact you.

No payment required just to send that form in online. The Festival staff will then review each application to see if it is a good fit for a local Arts Festival. (There is an emphasis this year on getting more original creative arts Vendors. Food, Drink, business services, etc., can also apply, but there may not be enough room for all of them, so that will take some working through to avoid duplication of similar Vendors.)

Get your application started as soon as you are sure by filling out the quick initial questionnaire/for online at:
https://www.magnaarts.org/vendor-application

** IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR VENDORS ! **

The Vendor applications to sell at this Festival had a glitch. As part of updating the new web site, any Vendor applications submitted from April 1 to April 15, 2026 are possibly lost in the cloud. The form you filled out during that time may have been received, but it may NOT have made it through the entire process. To make sure your application is still in the loop, it should be re-submitted.

To find the online application to be a Vendor, the simplest way is to follow this direct link:

https://www.magnaarts.org/vendor-application

Please don't worry about any problem with having two Vendor booths instead of one. Remember that the form is just a REQUEST to be considered by sending in some basic information. When the Festival staff responds it will be clear. Having 2 application forms only means that you'll be sure to be seen and considered. When accepted, you still only pay for 1 booth.

Thanks for your patience. The re-submission should only take a few minutes, but could make sure you don't miss out on the event.

Vendor sign-ups are open NOW for the upcoming Magna Main Street Arts Festival on Saturday, August 15th, 2026.

The Festival is free to attend, and it can be rewarding to Vend. Experienced and first-time Vendors are welcome to apply. The process is simple. Booth fees are some of the lowest in the valley for such a big event.

1. Go online to the new Arts Council of Magna Web Page at www.magnaarts.org There is a path there to submit your application, but if you can't find it quickly here is the direct link: https://www.magnaarts.org/vendor-application

2. Answer the basic questions on the form. Who are you? How to contact you? What kind of Vending booth do you want to do? Basic stuff. You don't even pre-pay for simply submitting this application/inquiry.

3. The Festival staff will look over each application and reply. Most Vendors of original Arts and creative work are accepted - it is an Arts Festival after all. Vendors of Food & Beverage, or professional services, etc. may need additional information or steps to make sure there is minimal duplication of similar services at the event, and that you can legally offer what you propose, and that it is a good fit for a community event.

4. If accepted the Vendor manager will send you a PayPal invoice by e-mail. Only then do you actually pay for your space.

5. WARNING!! There are scammers claiming to be the "official" contact for this event and other festivals/events in the area. Don't believe them, and don't pay them, because that does NOT get you space, and your money will be wasted.

Any other questions? We are still months away, so there is time to work out issues. Ask here or message through the Arts Council web site. We will post clarifications and updates as needed.

THANKS for being a part of local art!

Photography? Yes, please.

Photography is one of the art forms with the most flexible ways to be good, or even great. Photos can be done with anything from a decent cell phone up to specialized high-end photo gear. The images you capture might be a matter or luck, or the result of serious planning and experience and ex*****on.

If you like the idea of taking photos and sharing the results, then what are you doing for the rest of this week? The fourth annual "Lens of Magna" photo contest is accepting entries in various categories, with entries due Saturday, April 11, 2026. Prizes are available in each category.

Rules are simple, but read them in advance at https://www.lensofmagna.com/

There you'll be able to see samples of past winners to see what is the standard for this opportunity. The most interesting part of the contest is that it really is designed to showcase Magna. All photos submitted must be taken near Magna Main Street, but they can still be as varied as the imaginations and talents of each person who submits photos.

Most photographers can submit their pix online by the deadline, but those defined as "professional" photographers have additional requirement.

Festival replacement theory? Sorry, nothing can replace a good Festival. Unless maybe we give stuff away?

As a tiny, artsy gesture, the Arts Council of Magna has added an extra incentive for people to attend the final 3 scheduled Friday night "Music & Movie in the Park" events for August 2025. See the Arts Council info pages at www.magnaarts.org or Arts Council of Magna for details on the music and movies for August 1, 8 and 15.

The added attraction is a free drawing for prizes. One lucky attendee each week will have their name selected at random. The winner will then be able to select their own choice of prize. The prize list includes a new Ukulele, tickets to the Empress Theater, gift certificates to local restaurants and stores, and possibly more to be added. One ticket per person, one winner per week, and a new winner each week. Must be present to win.

Since we can't do a Festival this year, maybe this will go a little way toward putting art and fun in the lives of a few people.

With the Arts Festival in Magna shuttered for this summer, may we suggest a dozen other ways to get some Art in your season?

First, the popular "Music & Movie in the Park" series starts on Friday, June 13, 2025. It continues most but not all Fridays. (Some dates are on or near holidays which affects too many plans.)

The full list of bands and films will be online at the Arts Council of Magna's social media and web page. Look for updates at www.magnaarts.org , or www.facebook.com/MagnaArts

These events are free! Bring blankets or chairs to sit on the lawn. Live bands play for about an hour at 8pm, followed by a popular movie on a giant inflatable screen at sundown - estimated at 9:15 pm.

Promoting arts & entertainment events to enhance the community. "Music & Movie in the Park" series.

With much regret, it has been determined that the Festival will NOT be held in 2025. The major reason is that there will be *serious* road construction on Magna Main Street sometime this summer. The exact timing and scope of the project is still evolving, and is subject to change, but as far as we know, the area of Magna Main Street around the Library would be under construction around the usual time of the Festival.

This is important because the ability to use the Library and surrounding streets is key to staging parts of the Festival. It is the spot for the Festival Art Show & Contest, has lots of public parking, restrooms, and provides access to the rest of Main Street for the vast majority of Festival visitors who approach from the East. If that general area is unavailable, as our best current information suggests, that makes it so much harder to plan and stage a large annual event there. It also means that a lot of time and money could be wasted by the event organizers, as well as by all the Vendors who would be investing in inventory and missing out on other events. It would certainly inconvenience many other interested parties to plan for an event which might later prove to be impossible to stage.

Options were considered, such as changing the location or date, but those proved to be impractical. A large annual event like this festival relies on a level of continuity - meaning that it is held in approximately the same time and place each year - and that goal is not workable for 2025.

So, for all who wanted to participate or attend the 2025 Festival, the best that we can say is "See You in 2026." Your calendar is now open for the time you hoped to attend this Festival, so watch for other ways to enjoy some art, music, vendors and fancy food.

Festival 2025? Well . . .

We would LOVE to give you great news on this, but honestly, things are just in limbo. The city is planning some major road reconstruction on Magna Main Street for summer 2025. Until there is full and final confirmation that the usual Festival location will even be available for a public event, we must ask for your patience. As soon as we know, we will share it.

Alternatives are being considered, such as an alternate location or date. Stay tuned.
