CHASE AND CHOOCH NEED OUR HELP
One of our long-time Alex's Angels has lost her job and reached out to us heartbroken asking if we could help find loving homes for her beloved fur family so they don't suffer during her economic struggle to get back on her feet. She has two dogs and these two stunning, very bonded feline brothers, Chase and Chooch, almost a year old. Knowing how much she loves her family, we asked if helping to provide food and supplies for them would help her keep them, and she believes this will be enough. We would like to send a 90 day supply of cat food, dog food and litter to our Angel Terri in Pennsylvania. Dear Peeps,

My name is "Toodle Loo".

Today I'm sad, because my foster mummy is sad.

I ask her what is wrong.

She won't tell me.

Then I overhear her conversation with my fantabulous foster Daddy PFT.

She tells him how it hurts her heart because no one wants to offer me a kind home.

She says she doesn't understand it.

She says that I am such a good boy. Such an affectionate, fun, playful sweetheart. Yet nobody wants me.

Foster Daddy PFT got emotional. With a lump in his throat, I could hear him say that I could remain with them for as long as I needed to.

They love me very very much.

They tell me every day what a smart chap I am.

How funny I am.

How much I love life. And people. And my doggie friends.

I love it here at Chateau PFT.

But I know that I must also find my own furever home - because this isn't it.

So, I'm kinda in limbo now.

I love my foster Mummy & Daddy PFT so much.

But I would love more for my very own hooman too.

I'm in limbo. And I want my own home.

I want somebody to love me like there's no tomorrow.

So yes, today I'm kinda sad.

We were asked to take this sweet old senior boy from MAS. Zeus is 9 yrs old. The owners didnt have the money to take him to the vet and had to take him to the shelter to have him euthanized because he was so sick and passing out...the shelter talked them out of it, thinking it was just seizures. We got him the very next day and got him to Dr. Grant at Shelby Center Hospital for Animals who found that it was heart failure. Zeus is the sweetest rottie ever. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He likes every person and dog he meets. He does not have long...maybe weeks or a month...but we are going to treat his symptoms and hang in there as long as he is willing to keep going and isn't suffering. So far he is a happy affectionate boy that loves people food and he has improved some on meds at this point. He has had to stay at the vet the past 2 weeks, and we were able to keep him for the weekend, and we are hoping that he will be able to come home with us this week and that we can keep him comfortable and we plan on giving him all the human food he wants. Bless his heart...we hate that he wont be with us long, but we are going to give him the best day ...every day he is with us.

Hi there! My name is Mr. McGregor (though some of the other cats call me Mac). This is deja vu for me because I've been in the shelter before (in 2011 to be exact). I came to the shelter from across the street (no, there is no human Mr. McGregor and no carrot patch, and certainly no Peter Rabbit). I was (and am) a big shelter favorite because I'm very sweet and love to nibble on ears. This dude adopted me and I thought it was a happy ever after thing. Well, it seems his lady friend's cat didn't like me, so here I am back in the shelter. How sad for him. How sad for me, but being a philosophical kind of guy I roll with the punches. The thing is, I like other cats and get along fine with them. Oh, I'm fiv+ but it's no big deal unless you have mean cats who love to fight and bite, and fiv kitties can live for a long time (which I plan to do of course). Adopt me and you will see. In the meantime, email the shelter for more info (though I've pretty well covered it). There are transport options too.

Those of you who've read "Homers' Odyssey" know that Homer and his sis-furs were trapped for days after 9/11 in our apartment only 3 blocks from Ground Zero. Ultimately, I was able to rescue them. We were very lucky that day, but many others weren't. Today we remember all the lives lost on 9/11--the office workers, police officers, firefighters, pets, and the brave working dogs who were among the first responders.
