Madison County Farm Bureau Madison County Farm Bureau is a non-profit, agricultural organization that seeks to promote agriculture within the county.

We do that through community involvement, donations, scholarships, livestock show purchases and by working with Texas Farm Bureau.

We announced the Skillet Award winners this morning during our County Presidents’ Conference! This new award highlights County Farm Bureaus that went above and beyond in donating protein, food items and monetary contributions to local food organizations during the 2025 program year.

Johnson County Farm Bureau earned top honors for total pounds of protein donated, contributing 1,500 pounds.

Cass County Farm Bureau was recognized for the highest monetary contribution at $5,005.

Denton County Farm Bureau received the award for the greatest number of items given, totaling 3,300 food items donated.

The Farmers Feeding Families program was launched in 2025 by TFB’s YF&R Advisory Committee to address food insecurity at the local level by connecting farmers and ranchers with food banks, shelters and community aid organizations in their own counties.

Big things are happening in the North Zulch FFA Ag dept , A multi year project started by the North Zulch FFA Ag dept is seeing the fruits of their labor , Teacher Heather Wieghat applied for a 2025 Texas Farm Bureau garden grant that was received and then matched by Madison County Farm Bureau for $1000 that started the garden project for the new Culinary class , Year 2 North Zulch FFA applied for a Tractor Supply grant that awarded a new greenhouse for NZ High School . A second $1000 garden grant was awarded in 2026 by Texas Farm Bureau and matched by Madison County Farm Bureau . Farm Bureau is proud to support the youth and innovative agriculture projects in Madison County.

Texas Farm Bureau made scholarship funds available to first-year students attending Texas State Technical College. Seventy $1,000 scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Former Texas Farm Bureau President S.M. True Jr. was devoted to agriculture. A $25,000 scholarship in his name seeks students who share that same passion.

We are presenting some of our Madison County activities at the American Farm Bureau convention in Anaheim, California this weekend. Madison County Farm Bureau is sharing some of these programs that are being implemented locally to a nationwide audience, we were chosen by our peers at Texas Farm Bureau to attend and present some of these programs to Ag Producers accross the United States at the American Farm Bureau Federation Convention. We are excited to be here and pick up new ideas that we can bring back home to members.
