SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: MEET BAGEL!

Another senior gentleman is looking for a quiet place to call home. Meet Bagel the Beagle!

Bagel was found as a stray at the south end of the county, and he has now been with us for 10 days. Sadly, not one person has come looking for this sweet older boy.

Bagel may move a little slower these days, and his hearing isn’t quite what it used to be, but there are a few things he hasn’t lost—his amazing Beagle nose and his ability to locate treats and his food bowl!

At around 33 pounds, Bagel isn’t looking for a life filled with adventure and long hikes. What he really wants is a soft, warm bed, a peaceful place to rest, and someone who will love him for the sweet senior gentleman he is.

Could you be Bagel’s soft place to land?

If you have room in your heart—and your home—to let Bagel spend his golden years in comfort, please stop by the shelter and meet him.

ALL ADOPTIONS ARE CURRENTLY 1/2 OFF!

Bagel has already spent 10 days waiting. Let’s not let him spend another 10 wondering if someone is coming for him.

Please SHARE Bagel! You never know when the right person is going to see his face and realize, “That’s my boy.”

Through No Fault of Her Own... Lainey Is Looking for Love Again. 🐾

Some dogs come to the shelter once. Some come twice.

Lainey is back for the third time.

She was found as a stray in February. She was adopted. Then she was found wandering again in May. She was adopted once more... and now she's back.

Every time Lainey starts to settle in, her world changes again.

Here's the thing... Lainey isn't a bad dog. She's a young dog who has never had the chance to learn what it truly means to be part of a family. Dogs don't learn house rules by bouncing from home to home or spending weeks in a kennel. They learn through patience, consistency, and someone who refuses to give up on them.

At just 1½ years old, Lainey has so much life and love ahead of her.

Lainey is already spayed, gets along well with other dogs, has a calm, sweet personality, and has done well around children.

This girl just needs someone committed to helping her become the amazing companion we know she can be

We invite you to come spend some time with her. Take her into the play yard. Sit with her in the lobby. Let her show you who she really is—not just another dog behind kennel bars.

She doesn't need a perfect family.

She needs her forever family.

One that understands that the best dogs aren't always the ones who know everything on day one... they're the ones whose lives are changed because someone believed they were worth the effort.

Come meet Lainey! Monday–Saturday | 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Even if you can't adopt, please SHARE. Every share gives Lainey another chance to find the one family that will finally say, "Welcome home... forever."

WARNING: Side Effects of Meeting Loki May Include Instant Love!

Looking for a best friend who will make every day a little brighter? Meet Loki!

At just 5 months old, Loki is at that fun age where every day is an adventure! This handsome young man came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own, and now he's patiently waiting for a family to see just how special he is.

About Loki: Loves people and is always ready to make a new friend. Gets along well with other dogs his size. He is learning to walk on a leash and improving every day—he'll make an awesome walking buddy with a little consistency. Loki is already neutered and ready to go home!

Like any puppy, he'll need someone willing to teach him the house rules, but we know he'll reward your patience with a lifetime of love and loyalty.

Loki doesn't understand why he's growing up in a kennel instead of a home. He should be chasing toys, stealing socks, and curling up beside his family after a day of adventures. Could that family be yours?

August Adoption Special: Take home your new best friend for just $50!

Come meet Loki! Monday–Saturday, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Not looking to adopt? Please SHARE! Every share gives Loki another chance to catch the eye of the family that's been searching for him.

Loki is ready to spend the rest of his puppyhood making memories with you. Could today be the day his story gets its happy ending?

ADOPTED!!! THANK YOU FOR THE SHARES! PLEASE GO AND SHARE THE OTHERS STILL WAITING.

Looking for a Farm Manager? Skye Has Already Applied!

Some dogs want a couch. Skye wants a purpose.

This stunning girl came to us after her owner passed away and there was no one left to care for her. From everything we've learned, Skye lived on a working farm—and she misses having a job to do.

At just 1½ years old, Skye is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and happiest when she has a task. She walks beautifully on a leash (right by your left side!), is wonderful with adults and children, loves belly rubs and while she's tolerant of smaller dogs, she's confident enough to remind them when they're being a little too much.

Skye is already spayed, smart as a whip, loves people and ready for an active home.

Kennel life just isn't for this girl. Every day she waits, hoping someone will see beyond those striking blue eyes and recognize the incredible partner she could be. Whether you have a farm, acreage, livestock, or simply live an active lifestyle and want a loyal companion who's always ready for the next adventure, Skye is ready to clock in.

August Adoption Special: Bring Skye home for just $50!

If you're not looking to adopt, please share this post. The perfect person for Skye may be one share away, and she deserves a home where she can get back to doing what she loves.

Visit us Monday–Saturday, 9:30 AM–4:30 PM to meet this beautiful working girl.

Because some dogs don't just need a home... they need a mission.

WARNING: Looking into Annabelle's eyes may result in an uncontrollable urge to adopt....

Seriously... just look at that smile!

Meet Annabelle, a happy-go-lucky girl whose tail never seems to stop wagging. We believe she was abandoned alongside Gilda, and the two may even be sisters—they're incredibly similar in age, size, and appearance. While we may never know their story, we're determined to make sure their next chapter is the best one yet.

Annabelle is estimated to be 1½ years old, weighs 42 pounds, and is the perfect medium-sized companion.

Here's what we already know about this sweet girl: Walks beautifully on a leash. Takes treats gently. Calm, affectionate, and loves being with people. Probably dreaming about truck rides with the windows down

She's the kind of dog who doesn't need to be the center of attention. She's simply looking for someone to love... someone to tell her she'll never be left behind again.

Now we need YOUR help.

Every like is appreciated. Every comment helps, but every SHARE puts Annabelle in front of hundreds of new people.

Because of our amaing followers, our posts are now reaching families in surrounding counties and even neighboring states! That's incredible! Let's keep that momentum going and help Annabelle find the family that's been searching for her without even knowing it.

We'd love nothing more than to see this sweet girl trade her kennel for: An ice cream cone on a truck ride...A couch to call her own...And a family who will love her forever.

August Adoption Special! Annabelle's adoption fee is just $50 for the month of August and includes her spay, microchip and vaccinations.

Come meet Annabelle at 319 Dulin Street, Monday–Saturday | 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Help us make Annabelle famous! Hit that SHARE button and let's find the person who looks at this picture and says..."That's my dog." 🐾

Can you spare a blanket for a furry friend? 🐾

These little faces may be tiny, but they still need warmth, comfort, and a cozy place to snuggle.

As we care for homeless puppies and kittens, our supply of blankets disappears quickly. We are in need of new or gently used small fleece blankets to help keep our shelter pets warm, comfortable, and feeling safe while they wait for their forever families.

If you're donating used blankets, please make sure they:

• Have no holes where tiny paws or claws could get caught.
• Have no frayed or loose edges, as we don't want our little ones ingesting loose strings that could cause health issues.

Donations can be dropped off at the shelter: 319 Dulin Street any day , 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Your generosity makes a real difference in the lives of our residents. Thank you for your continued support and for helping us provide a safe, warm, and comfortable environment for every animal in our care. We couldn't do it without you!

Who doesn't love chocolate? Meet Hershey!

This handsome boy is all ears... literally! With ears that could probably pick up a conversation from the next county and eyes that are quietly asking, "Is my family out there?"... Hershey is more than just a handsome face.

He's estimated to be around 2 years old and is one of those dogs who doesn't ask for much. Give him a patch of cool grass to stretch out in, a cozy spot beside you on the couch, a full food bowl, and someone to love—that's all he's ever wanted.

Life hasn't always been kind to Hershey. He's a little underweight and gets so excited at mealtime that he'll need a slow feeder while he learns that food will always be there. We think once he realizes he's finally home, that worry will melt away.

He's still polishing his leash manners, but he's eager to learn—especially if treats are involved!

Hershey has all the ingredients to make an incredible best friend: Sweet personality, award-winning ears, young, playful, and ready to learn and a heart that's just waiting to belong to someone!

August Adoption Special! For the entire month of August, Hershey's adoption fee is just $25! That includes: Neuter. Microchip. Vaccinations.

You won't find a sweeter deal!

Now we just need one thing... YOU to help him get noticed.

Please LIKE, COMMENT, and SHARE this post so Hershey's future family has the chance to find him. You may not be looking for a dog, but someone on your friends list might be searching for a loyal best friend with the cutest ears around.

Visit Hershey at 319 Dulin Street, Monday–Saturday | 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Ask our staff to bring Hershey up front for a meet-and-greet. We have a feeling those big ears, soulful eyes, and even bigger heart will have you saying, "I'll take Hershey home."

Meet GILDA!

Gilda was found wandering near Bean Cemetery Road. We don't know her story, but we fear someone simply discarded her...as if she didn't matter.

Well, she matters to us.

At just 1½ years old and 35 pounds, Gilda is the perfect size and the perfect mix of sweet and loyal. The moment you open her kennel, she doesn't charge the door or bounce off the walls...she gently walks with you hoping for belly rubs.

She walks beautifully on a leash and simply wants to be wherever you are.

Got a truck? She'll happily be your co-pilot.
Heading out on the tractor or side-by-side? She already called shotgun.
Looking for a buddy to ride the backroads, help with chores, or curl up beside you after a long day? Gilda has already packed her imaginary bags.

The only thing she's missing is someone to tell her, "Hop in, let's go home."

🐾 Here's where YOU can help.🐾

You may not be looking for a new furry friend, and that's okay. But every time you hit that Share button, the chances of someone else seeing Gilda—and falling completely in love—increase. One share can reach hundreds of people. Hundreds of shares can change a life.

Also, don't let distance stop you! We happily adopt to families in other counties and even other states. Gilda's perfect family may not live next door—they may be just one Facebook share away.

Come meet Gilda at 319 Dulin Street.
We're open Monday–Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Ask to have Gilda brought out of her run so you can spend a few minutes with her.

We have a feeling those few minutes may change both of your lives.

Before you scroll...please hit SHARE. Let's prove once again what this amazing community can do for a dog who deserves a second chance.
