๐ธ In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Sister, Essie Mae Glenn-Coleman ๐ธ
There are people whose presence in your life you simply cannot imagine living without โ and for us, that was our Essie Mae.
She was the eighth child born to our parents, the late Essie B. and William Earl Glenn, and the first daughter to grace our family. From the very beginning, she was something special. There was a sweetness about her โ in her smile, in her words, in the way she made every single one of us feel seen and loved โ that was entirely her own.
Essie Mae walked through this world quietly and graciously, the way only a woman of deep faith and deep love can. She was our big sister in every sense of the word. She prayed for us, cheered for us, stood with us, and gave of herself without ever asking for anything in return. Whatever the burden, she helped carry it. That was just who she was.
We watched her give her time, her energy, and her heart to the Cleveland community that raised us all. She didnโt do it for recognition. She did it because she truly believed in people โ and in doing good.
As we remember her today, one year to the day of her passing, we carry her in our hearts. In every act of service, every kind word, every hand extended to a neighbor โ we see Essie Mae. Her spirit lives on in each one of us she helped shape.
To our sister, the first girl, our Essie Mae โ thank you for loving us the way you did. We are forever grateful God gave you to us.
Until we meet again. ๐
