Madison Food Pantry - NH Food Bank's 2026 "NH Feeding NH" Grant - Farm Fresh Produce Will Be Offered Again This Summer!

The Madison Food Pantry recently received a very generous NH Food Bank "NH Feeding NH" grant for the purchase of local farm products this summer. The pantry has participated in this program since it started in 2020, and we will be setting up our weekly "Farmers' Table" offering farm fresh products from both Sherman and Grand View Farms.

Nothing beats farm fresh corn, tomatoes, lettuce, and other items during the summer months. We will post updates as the different products come into season in the next month or so.

The NH Feeding NH program, in partnership with the NH Food Alliance, NH Farm Bureau and NOFA-NH, is a statewide initiative designed to support the purchase of NH grown food to feed our food insecure neighbors with nutritious, locally grown fruits, vegetables, dairy and protein throughout NH communities.

This program will not only support our local farmers, but will also help nourish communities in need, reduce food waste, and replenish our local economy.

In 2025, 131 farms participated in the NH Feeding NH program providing 293 partner agencies with 476,918 pounds of nutritious, locally grown fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy through both partner agencies purchases and NH Food Bank bulk ordering.

A big thank you to NH food Bank for including us in this year's NH Feeding NH program.

NH Food Bank - 2026 Kid's Summer Meals Home Delivery Program - Registration is Now Open!

Nationwide, nearly 30 million children participate in USDA’s school breakfast and lunch programs during the school year. However, when schools are closed, kids lose access to these healthy meals and are at higher risk of food and nutrition insecurity.

USDA’s Summer Nutrition Program for Kids (SUN Programs) is a federally-funded, state-administered program which provides kids and teens with access to tasty, nutritious meals during the summer months.

NH Food Bank administers and supports summer nutrition programs in areas of the state that may lack the financial and administrative capacity to provide summer meals, and has historically had a specific focus on ensuring Coos, Carroll and Grafton Counties and the Keene-area have the resources they need to serve meals to children during the summer.

Registration is now open for the 2026 NH Food Bank's Carroll County Home Delivery Summer Meals program. The meals are available at no cost for the towns of Tamworth, Madison, Albany, and Conway to align with the Tri-County Transit bus route.

This program will be providing 5 days' worth of breakfast and lunch ingredients for all children under the age of 18, delivered straight to the child's home!

There is a maximum of 120 children that the program can serve, when that number has been reached the registration will close.

The program flyer is attached.

Madison Food Pantry - Today's NH Food Bank's Supplemental Delivery - Much Needed Food for Many Local Agencies Was Received

The Madison Food Pantry is partnering with the NH Food Bank for a program that is delivering much needed food to many local food pantries and agencies in Carroll County. The Madison Food Pantry is now serving as a drop-site for bi-monthly truck deliveries that are providing local agencies with a variety of supplemental food products.

This morning, a NH Food Bank truck from the Manchester warehouse delivered 7 pallets of much needed fresh produce, frozen ground turkey, sliced cheese, fresh eggs, and pre-packed dry and canned goods boxes. All of the products were provided at no cost by the Food Bank to the receiving agencies.

Provisions Pantry, Conway Dinner Bell, Freedom Pantry, Conway Village Pantry, Vaughan Pantry and Madison Pantry all received today's food products.

A big thank you for Christy, Ryan, and the NH Food Bank's Manchester warehouse crew for organizing today's supplemental delivery. Their support is greatly appreciated!

Madison Food Pantry - A Big Thank You! - The Agnes M. Lindsay Trust

The Madison Food Pantry recently received a very generous grant from The Agnes M. Lindsay Trust which is located in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

A big thank you goes out to The Agnes M. Lindsay Trust as this grant will be used to purchase needed food products for the upcoming 2026 Thanksgiving program. We are expecting to serve 100 plus local families again this year. The Lindsay Trust's grant will enable is to provide complete Thanksgiving meals to so many families right here in our community.

The Trust was established in 1939, and Agnes M. Lindsay's Will provides in part as follows:

All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate . . . I give, devise and bequeath . . . . BUT IN TRUST, NEVERTHELESS . . . . to be held, managed and invested by said Trustees . . . . for any charitable, educational or philanthropic purposes . . . . having in mind my interest in the education of poor and deserving students from rural communities, my interest in the relief of suffering and my interest in child welfare . . . ."

Recognizing the escalating need placed on food pantries and food banks due to inflation and the increased costs of food and basic necessities, the Trust is committed to working with organizations to eliminate food insecurity and are dedicated to making a lasting impact by providing support through capital and operating grants.

Agnes M. Lindsay was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts on August 11, 1870 (Agnes Morton Snow). She was married to Edwin P. Lindsay, who predeceased her in May 1925. They owned a summer home located at the Uplands, Whittemore Point on Newfound Lake in Bridgewater, New Hampshire that they referred to as "the farm."

Mrs. Lindsay passed away on February 16, 1937. "Her life was marked by a quiet generosity, seldom equaled. Through others she gave generously to every community project, and many individual needs. Perhaps no better tribute could be paid to her than the fact that those in her employ remained her faithful and interested personal friends."

Mrs. Lindsay left a great legacy and over the years this Trust has made a significant impact on many needy organizations and individuals providing millions of dollars in grants.
