Epilepsy is more common than many people realize. πŸ’œ

In fact, 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime - which means chances are, most of us know or love someone affected by it.

Understanding epilepsy starts with awareness. Knowing the facts helps reduce stigma, builds understanding, and creates more supportive communities for people living with seizures.

πŸ’œ Help us spread awareness by sharing this post.

🍎 A new school year is a great time to make seizure safety a priority in the classroom.

As students and staff return to the classroom, now is a great time to make sure your school team knows how to recognize a seizure, respond appropriately, and support students living with epilepsy.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Wisconsin offers FREE Seizure Recognition and First Aid training for school personnel, available virtually or in person.

Whether you’re an administrator, teacher, aide, school nurse, coach, or other school staff member, being prepared can make a meaningful difference when a student needs you.

A huge step forward for the Epilepsy Community!

The National Plan for Epilepsy Act has officially passed the U.S. Senate, bringing us one step closer to advancing epilepsy research, improving care, expanding education, and strengthening support for the millions of people living with epilepsy.

But we’re not done yet. The bill now moves to the U.S. House of Representatives, and your voice can help move it forward.

Please take a moment to contact your U.S. Representative and encourage them to support the National Plan for Epilepsy Act.

Together, we can help create a brighter future for everyone affected by epilepsy. πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ What an incredible reminder of the power of community.

This weekend, our Executive Director, Allison, had the privilege of attending the 25th Annual RMLII Memorial Golf Invitational. While the weather may have changed the day's plans, it certainly didn't change the purpose behind this remarkable event.

For 25 years, the Leonhardt family, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters have come together to honor Robbie's memory while making a lasting difference for individuals and families living with epilepsy. We are deeply grateful that the Epilepsy Foundation of Wisconsin is the beneficiary of this meaningful event.

Thank you to the Leonhardt family, Fire Ridge Golf Club and everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, participated in the raffles, and supported the event in so many ways. Your generosity helps us continue providing education, support, advocacy, and programs for people living with epilepsy throughout Wisconsin.

Congratulations on an incredible 25 years, and thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special tradition. πŸ’œ
