Today’s the first day for early voting in Wisconsin! We are excited to announce that next week, multiple faith and spiritual groups from across campus will come together for a multifaith early voting event in a week! On Tuesday, October 27 at 4:30 pm we will gather at Library Mall for brief reflections on civic responsibility, voting, and leadership from different traditions 🗳️ Then we’ll walk together to Memorial Union for early voting - bring your ID (you can register there too!) 🚶 After we’ll have dinner together at Hillel (611 Langdon)🥗

This event is fully nonpartisan: no candidates, no parties, no issues, just community and showing up for each other. All are welcome, whatever your faith, background, or tradition.

We had such a meaningful start to our Diversity in the Diaspora series! ✡️🇲🇽 Thank you to Emeritus Professor Alberto Vargas and Jeff Spitzer-Resnick, Esq. for sharing both the history and lived experiences of Mexican Jewish identity, and to the students, campus colleagues, and community members for participating! This month our focus is Persian Jewry, so students, stop by tonight at 7 pm for a deep dive into Persian Jewish identity, and next week, open to all, on October 20th come hear from speakers about their experiences over a Perisan dinner 💚

For generations, the Sinaiko family has been part of the story of Jewish life at UW–Madison. Today, that legacy continues through the Sinaiko Family Wellness Center at UW Hillel.
Richard & Patty, Greg & Marcie, and Samantha & Shayna each have a deeply personal connection to Madison, UW–Madison, and Hillel — and each sees the Wellness Center as a way to create something lasting for generations of students to come.

But once on campus, we were reminded of the long history of Sinaikos on campus. Mental and physical health are both very important parts of our lives, and we love being connected to the Wellness Center at Hillel.”

The Sinaiko Family Wellness Center is officially open—and it’s already becoming an important part of student life at UW Hillel.

With 10+ classes each week, certified instructors, and a welcoming space to work out, recharge, relax, or simply take a breath between classes, the Wellness Center gives students a dedicated place to care for their mental and physical well-being.

This space was made possible because of incredible partners, including the Sinaiko family, longtime supporters and UW–Madison alumni. Through our partnership with University Health Services, we’re also able to make our wellness offerings available to the entire Wisconsin student body year-round.
