Great news!

Morgan County Public Safety Announces Upcoming Motorola P25 Radio System

Morgan County Public Safety is moving forward with a new Motorola P25 radio system to strengthen emergency communications across our community.

This upgraded system will help improve reliable, mission-critical radio coverage for the public safety professionals who respond when Morgan County needs them most, including fire, EMS, law enforcement, 911, and partner agencies.

The P25 system is designed to support clear, coordinated communication between responders during day-to-day operations, major incidents, severe weather events, and mutual aid responses.

The Morgan County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the $5.7 million dollar radio project funded by SPLOST at this past Tuesday's BOC meeting. This investment reflects Morgan County’s continued commitment to responder safety, operational readiness, and dependable emergency service for our residents, businesses, and visitors.

Morgan County Public Safety: connected, prepared, and ready to respond.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation formed to support Morgan county Fire Rescue, EMS and the Sheriff’s office while also helping taxpayers take advantage of the LESS Crime act to direct their state tax dollars to support local law enforcement.
This program allows Georgia taxpayers to contribute to the foundation then receive a tax credit for the amount of their donation. This act keeps your tax dollars local. Why send your Georgia tax dollars to Atlanta when you can keep them here in Morgan County?
The Foundation raised $120,000 last year and we hope to exceed that this year. Funds have been used to help Sheriff Hooks create and sustain the K-9 program (very expensive) and purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for both the Fire Rescue team under the direction of Chief Garrett Smith and the Sheriff’s office.
Please consider joining your fellow citizens and business owners in supporting your local heroes by making a charitable contribution or taking advantage of the tax credit program.

Congratulations to Senior Firefighter Michael Hamilton for completing his Emergency Medical Technician training. SFF Hamilton took on the rigorous 10 week coarse so he can better serve Morgan County. His dedication to bettering himself as a fighter does not go unnoticed and we are extremely proud of his achievement.
