Introducing Robin Monson-Dupuis!
Robin Monson-Dupuis, LCSW, SAC, RYT, is the owner of RMM Wellness Therapies, and is the author of “Spirit Son, A Mother’s Journey To Reconnect with Her Son After His Death From He**in Overdose”. Monson-Dupuis has dedicated her 35+ year career to helping those with behavioral health and substance use issues heal. She has been a Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health for Aurora Health Care and currently is in private practice. After losing her son to a substance use disorder, Monson-Dupuis holds a unique vantage point on the disease of addiction and the profound trauma of grief. Robin’s book pushes back on a culture that often doesn’t support a reasonable grief journey and describes her path of exploring alternative healing modalities after her loss.
Monson-Dupuis speaks publicly with a heart for the topics of addiction, Motivational Interviewing, grief, and Emotional Survival Skills for first responders. She has spoken at the 2018 Op**te Crisis Congress Conference in D.C., the 2017 UW-Milwaukee Women Leaders Conference, and the Milwaukee “Many Faces of Depression” conference. Her televised speaking opportunities have included topics such as eating disorders, the Female Athlete Triad, parenting adolescents, mindfulness, anxiety and depression. She provides personal growth workshops on mental health topics such as Cultivating Happiness, Women’s Empowerment, and Growing Spiritual and Emotional Resiliency.
Monson-Dupuis utilizes a wide range of tools in her therapeutic work with clients, including yoga for trauma, Reiki, Brainspotting, chakra balancing, Internal Family Systems, and Solution-Focused Therapy, which she has taught at the graduate school level at UW-Milwaukee.
Monson-Dupuis started the Greenfield, WI Chapter of GRASP (Grief Recovery After Substance Passing) in 2017 soon after her son Ethan died because she couldn’t find a group that met the unique needs of grieving a loved one’s death due to addiction. As a facilitator, Monson-Dupuis gently guides those who have lost someone to addiction to a place where they can grieve and heal without stigma. She is the Chair of the annual Ethan’s 5K Run Against Addiction (ERAA), which has raised over $500K in the last six years to provide sober living assistance to those in recovery from addiction in the Milwaukee area.
