Ken Hackman was the guest speaker on June 9, 2026 for the Madison Lions Club. He gave a community talk on how ornamental, highly manicured landscapes and certain Homeowners Association (HOA) rules displace native wildlife. Ken urged replacing invasive ornamentals with native plants that support butterflies, bees, birds, and fireflies; managing yards to retain leaf litter; and avoiding practices and plants that harm pollinators. Local efforts in Madison were highlighted, alongside specific native plant recommendations and species-host relations.
