The 2026 International Credit Union Development Educator (ICUDE) graduates are creating impact across communities, countries and the global cooperative movement. 🌍

From advancing financial education in Ghana, to strengthening cooperation among cooperatives in Jamaica, to creating stronger connections between students and cooperatives in the United States — these graduates demonstrate what cooperative leadership looks like in action.

Congratulations to:
- Cyprian Kankyie Ahmed Basing (Africa DE, Ghana)
- Bornette Donaldson (CaribDE, Jamaica)
- Cathy Statz (US DE, United States)

Their work reflects the power of education, collaboration and global connection in advancing the credit union movement worldwide.

This is just the beginning! More members of the 2026 ICUDE graduating class coming soon ✨

Kassandra Schroeder, Director of WYCUP and Global DE, joined the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates annual convention and exposition — ACE26. It was a space full of ideas, young professionals, and credit union leaders sharing what’s next for the movement in Michigan.

Kassi first joined FUELmi, MCUF's young professional networking group, for their annual Leadership Summit the day prior to the convention, which explored themes of authenticity and fueling your motivation with purpose. The next morning, Kassi opened ACE26, delivering a presentation during their annual GWLN breakfast which encouraged credit union leaders at any level to "Zoom Out" and consider that every problem, such as leadership gaps, has a broader solution set to explore when viewed at the global level. She closed her remarks inviting ACE26 participants to reflect on the topics they'll explore in the days ahead with a broader lens.

Big thanks to the Michigan Credit Union League and Foundation, FUELmi, CU Spark Tank, and all partners and speakers who made it happen.

Our GWLN x eLeadership Academy™ Thrive Panel “Leading Workplace Mental Health” brought together an extraordinary group of voices for one of the most honest, practical and grounding conversations we’ve had in this space.

Thank you to our facilitators, Sandra McDowell and Eleni Giakoumopoulos, and to our incredible panelists: Joy Porter, SVP, Total Rewards, Technology & Operations at Velera; Shona McGlashan, Principal at McGlashan Consulting; and Dr. Alba Cabral, licensed clinical psychologist — for showing up with such depth, candor and care.

From psychological safety and burnout to resilience and organizational culture, this conversation reminded us that supporting people is not separate from strong leadership, it IS strong leadership.

During WYCUP Global Gateway Session #5, Justin Stewart — Chief Customer Officer at The Capricornian Bank and one of the youngest executives in Australia’s mutual banking sector — shared a refreshingly practical perspective on financial and business acumen.

Joining us at 1AM his local time, Justin spoke about everything from learning to read financial reports and understanding strategy, to asking better questions, building confidence and leading sustainably.

One of the strongest reminders from the session: you do not need to know everything to grow as a leader, but you do need the curiosity to keep learning 🔎

Thank you, Justin, for sharing your experience, honesty and leadership insights with the global WYCUP community.
