The home delivery of books for those who can’t get to a library is a wonderful service provided by the Madison Public Library.

Do you have a grandparent in your life who isn't as mobile as they used to be? Or maybe that grandparent is you? One way to stay connected and informed is to use Madison Public Library's Home Service program!

The program is for both individuals and organizations like assisted living or nursing home facilities- anyone living within Madison's city limits who has an ongoing physical condition that prevents them from coming to the library. You'll work with our library staff to share what you enjoy reading; we'll curate a list of books and other library materials for you (large print, DVDs, magazines, etc.), and a home service volunteer will deliver the items to you on a regular monthly schedule, returning them once you're finished, free of charge.

Recently, our staff received a lovely bouquet from a Home Service patron with a card attached reading, "I am so grateful for the care and concern you have showed in picking out books for me. -Ilene"
