Madison Area YMCA Mariners Swim Team Madison Area YMCA Mariner Swim Team The team is comprised of girls and boys from age 6 through high school. Dive on in!

Our goal is to create a program that will be the perfect environment for multiple levels of competitive swimmers—from beginners to swimmers who are nationally ranked. We believe the process of following the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of our swim program will inevitably lead to success not only in swimming but in all areas of their lives. The YMCA

National Swimming and Diving motto is “Everybody Swims, Everybody Wins,” and we strive to attain that at The Madison Area YMCA. The Madison Area YMCA Mariners Swim Team (MAY) offers a year-round opportunity for competitive swimming in both YMCA and USA Swimming competitions as well as seasonal instructional clinics for aspiring competitive athletes. The major objective is to offer the competitive swimmer a fun and challenging program, which will aid them in developing a systematic blueprint to succeed. The Madison Area YMCA coaching staff stresses individual self-improvement as each swimmer's primary goal. Training in stroke techniques, speed and conditioning/endurance are customized by ability and age to help achieve this goal. We want all athletes to learn the value of hard work, sportsmanship, respect, how to work with others, and commitment both to themselves and to a group.

Final day of competition!
Congratulations to our Mariners on finishing strong at ISCA ELITE SHOWCASE.

Wilhelmina Newell finished off strong completing her first long course 100 fly!

Una Maksimovic finished 3rd in the 400 IM!

Ayla earned three medals tonight finishing 8th in the 200 IM and 50 free as well as 9th in the 100 fly!

Zachary Snyder finished off with another 3 gold medals, winning the 200 IM (new team record) 100 fly (new team record) and 50 free!

Zach also won the high point award for the 10 year old boys as well as most points scored in the whole meet for any age and gender!

Day 3 saw even more best times and gold medals!

Congratulations to our Mariners competing in day 3 of ISCA ELITE SHOWCASE.

Wilhelmina Newell swam an incredible best time earning 8th place in the 50 breast dropping over 4 seconds in the process

Ayla Faber earned two spots in the finals tonight In the 50 back and 100 free! Ayla crushed theee seconds off her best time to earn 5th place in the 100 free!

Una Maksimovic swam the 100 breast (21st place) and 100 free (19th place )

Continuing his tour de force in Florida Zachary Snyder add a 3rd place in the 50 breast and the. Two more gold medals in the 100 free( team record ) and 50 back!

Day 2 of ISCA ELITE SHOWCASE saw more records fall and even more podium finishes!

Una Maksimovic swam to a 6th place finish in the 400 free!
Ayla Faber earned a 6th place finish in the 200 free.
Wilhelmina Newell swam the 50 fly this morning earning 22nd place.
Rounding out the day Zach Snyder had another amazing day breaking two team records and winning the 50 fly and 200 free!

Day 1 at ISCA ELITE SHOWCASE may have started out a little wet, but some rain didn’t stop our swimmers from swimming fast!
Each Mariner in action today had a best time!
Some noteable swims were:
Wilhelmina Newell dropped 9 seconds in the 100 breast to place in the top 10!
Ayla Faber earned a spot in the A final in both the 100 breast and back!
Una Maksimovic drop 1.5 seconds in the 50 back!
Zach Snyder , fresh off Zones, won both his events today - he won the 100 back and 400 free with two new team records!

Final day of competition for Mariners at TYR Futures championships, ISCA Senior Blast and EZ Age Group Championships!

Down in St Petersburg, Florida: Catie finished a great week of swimming with a new best time in the 50 breast earning 38th place overall!

Meanwhile in Richmond, Virginia: Zach, Beatrice and Ike swam one more day representing NJS and helping our LSC get 2nd place in the meet!
Zach helped the 200 medley relay to a 9th place finish! Ike swam the 50 free earning 90th place overall. Beatrice swam to a 14th place finish in the 50 free and anchored the 200 medley relay for NJS and helped them win the gold medal in the event!

Lastly in action in Austin,Texas: Hannah Wilson swam one last race as a Mariner before she embarks on her journey to Penn State in the Fall. Hannah finished Futures with a 3rd place finish in the 200 back- Capping off an incredible Mariners career that saw her break 25 team records during her tenure with the team!

Great job Mariners!

Congratulations to our 13 and under Mariners on an amazing YMCA LC championships! We had several gold medal swims! We even took 1st and 2nd in two events.
We had three individual records and 2 relay records broken over the weekend!
Congratulations to Zachary Snyder on breaking the 9/10 200 meter free team record and even more impressive a perfect 6 for 6 events wins!
Peter Liu broke both the 200 and 400 IM Team records for 11-12.
The girls 9-10 free and medley relay teams of Beatrice Wade, Ayla Faber, Cecilia Uhler and Cora Walsh broke the 9-10 team records in both those relays !
Icing on the cake of a great weekend, our talented Mariners finished 2nd overall amongst all the YMCA teams in competition!
