Over the course of 4 weeks, high school students from Wisconsin, USA, and The Gambia connected virtually through our International Academy: These Teens Mean Busine$$ program.

Together, they dove into management, finance, and marketing, and collaborated across borders to design social enterprise concepts targeting major global issues:

This summer, MMSD middle schoolers are getting a hands-on look at future careers!

As part of our work to connect community resources with public schools, we helped secure funding, volunteers, and experiential learning opportunities for MMSD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Summer Discovery program. The program introduces students to careers in engineering, construction, transportation, entrepreneurship, and other high-demand fields through classroom activities, site visits, and direct interaction with industry professionals.

Shoutout to our community partners supporting this program, including ATC JH Findorff, Hooper Corporation, Kriete Truck Center - Madison, IBEW Local 159, Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, and CEOs of Tomorrow, Inc.

By bringing schools and community partners together, programs like CTE Summer Discovery help students discover their interests, expand their horizons, and begin imagining the many pathways available to them after graduation.

What an exciting first week of our These Teens Mean Busine$$ Summer Internship Program! 🎉

Students kicked off the summer with two full days of job readiness training, leadership development, and team-building activities. Throughout the program, they’ll participate in college-level coursework with our Youth Leadership Coach, giving them the opportunity to earn both high school and Madison College credits.

And the best part? They’re counting down the days until they begin their internships next week! 😎 We can’t wait to see them put their skills into action and continue growing as future leaders.
