The Madison PBA is proud to once again participate in the 2026 Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run happening on Friday, June 5th!

This year, our officers will be joined by teachers from the Madison School District, members of the Fire Department, and local elected officials as we come together to support an incredible cause that changes lives every single day.

The Torch Run represents far more than just a run — it’s a show of unity, inclusion, and support for the athletes of Special Olympics, who continue to inspire us all through their determination, courage, and heart.

We are asking our community to help support our fundraising efforts in any way possible. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement helps provide opportunities for athletes to compete, grow, and shine both on and off the field. See the link below!

Thank you for always standing behind Madison’s first responders, educators, and community leaders as we run together for such a worthwhile cause. ❤️🔥🏃‍♂️

Please join us in congratulating Patrolman DiLandro and Captain Longo on successfully completing the 2026 Police Unity Tour ride to Washington, D.C.

Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to honoring the fallen embody the true spirit of law enforcement and service. We are proud to have them represent the Rose City once again as they rode and accompanied thousands of officers from across the country in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you both for your hard work, determination, and for continuing the longstanding tradition of Madison officers participating in the Unity Tour since its inception in 1997. Welcome home and congratulations on another successful ride! 🇺🇸🚴‍♂️

Today the PBA would like to recognize and honor the retirement of Sergeant Sean McCarthy from the Madison Police Department.

Sergeant McCarthy’s career is nothing short of extraordinary. Since 1999 and still currently, he has served our country across all four branches of the United States military 🇺🇸 —the Marines , Air Force, Navy, and Army—while also dedicating himself to protecting and serving the Madison community for 18 years, in addition to Roselle Park for 5 years where he began his career. Along the way, he achieved two master’s degrees, reflecting a commitment to growth, discipline, and excellence in everything he pursued.

His service includes three overseas deployments 🇺🇸:
• 2016 – U.S. Navy, Djibouti/Somalia, Coastal Riverine Squadron 8, C Co, 2nd Platoon
• 2019 – U.S. Army, Djibouti/Somalia, 2nd & 113th Infantry, C Co, 2nd Platoon
• 2023–2024 – U.S. Air Force, Niger, 786 EABS AB 101

Through every role and every challenge, Sergeant McCarthy exemplified leadership, resilience, and unwavering dedication.

On behalf of the PBA and the community, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks for your decades of service, sacrifice, and commitment. Your impact will be felt for years to come.

Congratulations on your well-earned retirement—wishing you and your family continued success, health, and happiness in this next chapter.

The PBA would like to thank everyone who supported our annual toy drive this year. Because of your generosity, and willingness to give, countless children will experience joy, hope, and smiles this holiday season. This year’s toys were graciously donated to Morristown Children’s Hospital, Overlook Children’s Hospital, and to children in need in East Orange and the City of Orange.

The PBA is truly thankful for the unwavering support of our community—from donors and volunteers to our partners who made this possible. Your kindness reminds us that when we come together, we can make a real difference.

Thank you for helping us spread holiday cheer. We hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays to you and your families!!! 🎄🎁
