Madison Boy Scouts Pack & Troop 540 The Scouting program objectives are character development, leadership development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

It’s time to join Cub Scouts and be a part of the Pack 540 in Madison, NC. We recently held a recruiting drive at Huntsville elementary and look forward to seeing you at our Ice Cream Party on September 1st. If interested reply or send us a message. The new school year is almost upon us and there is no better time to get elementary-aged kids "hooked" on Cub Scouting! And what better way to get them started off on their Scouting journey than to be outdoors on a Saturday morning on the shores of a lake catching fish!

The Old North State Council is happy to accomodate this through its annual Fishing Derby! This year it will be held on Saturday, September 26 from 8am-12noon at SIX locations spread across our area:

- City Lake Park, 602 W Main St., Jamestown
- Finch Park, 15 Paul Beck Rd., Lexington
- Graham-Mebane Lake, 3218 Bason Rd., Mebane
- Guilford County Farm, 7315 Howerton Road, Elon
- Lake Reidsville Park, 630 Water Works Rd, Reidsville
- Sportsmans Club, 7999 Winfree Rd., Summerfield

The cost is just $5 per person to partipate. As an added bonus, if your Scout brings someone along with them and they register to become a Scout at the event, BOTH the Scout and recruit will get a brand new fishing rod!

It's August! And that means Cub Scouts have one last chance to do one of ONSC's summer day hikes!

Our next scheduled set of hikes will be on Saturday, August 15th with our northern hike taking place along the Matrimony Creek Greenway in Eden and in the south at Boone's Cave Park in Lexington.

Registration is just $5 and Cub Scouts can get a patch! Hopefully by then a lot of them will have collected all three!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Madison Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts at the downtown Madison America 250 block
Party. We extend our gratitude to Briggs Family Kitchen for their invaluable assistance with our spaghetti event. Special thanks to Howie Terry and everyone at the Madison Merchants Guild for organizing a fantastic block party. We also appreciate the Madison-Rockingham Rescue Squads for their care of our scout who became overheated, as well as for looking after all attendees. Our thanks go to the Madison Police Department, Fire Department, and all other first responders for ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone present. This truly exemplifies the spirit of community. Lastly, congratulations to Buddy Dean Smith, the winner of our 50/50 raffle, who took home an additional $100.
